Atos secures first dual Scopism SIAM Assured status
Atos has received Scopism SIAM Assured status in two categories, covering both service provision and consultancy and advisory work in service integration and management.
The company said it is the first organisation worldwide to hold the dual accreditation under the Scopism SIAM Assured programme. The programme assesses organisations that deliver or advise on Service Integration and Management, often referred to as SIAM.
Two Accreditations
Scopism awards SIAM Assured status after an independent assessment. The process reviews SIAM practices across areas such as governance, integration, assurance, and coordination. It also considers approaches to service value optimisation.
Atos received recognition both as a SIAM Service Provider and as a SIAM Consultancy and Advisory Organisation. That combination covers operational delivery and strategic advisory work under the SIAM model.
SIAM typically applies where organisations manage services delivered by multiple suppliers. It can cover IT operations, cloud services, cybersecurity services, workplace services, and application management. It often involves a central function that coordinates suppliers, sets governance arrangements, and manages service performance against agreed measures.
Scopism described its accreditation as a benchmark for procurement and supplier assessment. Atos said the dual status will feature in customer engagements and tender processes.
Procurement Focus
Supplier due diligence can take significant time for organisations that run formal procurement processes. Accreditation schemes often aim to shorten early-stage evaluation by providing a recognised assessment outcome.
Scopism framed SIAM Assured in those terms, with a focus on consistency and evidence. The organisation said it reviewed both standard service information and customer references as part of its assessment of Atos.
"Atos is the first organisation globally to be awarded two formal accreditations from the Scopism Assured program. We were impressed by the comprehensive nature of the evidence Atos provided. Every question was answered with both standard services offering information as well as customer reference citations, which described how the service was used in the real world. One of accreditation's most significant advantages is its simplification of the due diligence process. Vetting new suppliers can be time-consuming and resource-intensive, but accreditation acts as a pre-screening process, assuring organisations that the supplier has met recognised industry standards," said Claire Agutter, Director, Scopism.
Governance Model
Atos positioned the accreditations as covering governance and coordination across multi-supplier environments. The company said the assessment confirmed that it follows recognised models for governance, integration, and coordination.
The company also linked the accreditation to competitive tendering. Atos described Scopism recognition as an established maturity benchmark in procurement settings. It said that can reduce uncertainty during supplier selection and speed up decision-making.
Michael Herron, Head of Atos UK & Ireland, described the accreditation as a marker of both strategic and operational delivery.
"Being the first organisation to secure SIAM Assured status in both categories is a testament to Atos' leadership position, strategic vision, operational excellence, and capacity to execute and deliver on our commitments. This dual accreditation is also an assurance for our customers of our best-in-class capabilities that can help them maximise value and succeed in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape," said Herron.
Industry Council
Atos also becomes a Scopism SIAM Assured Partner as part of the status. The company said this includes a seat on the SIAM Leadership Council. Atos said the council role involves contributing to the strategic direction and evolution of SIAM.
Scopism is based in the UK and operates as a SIAM-focused organisation that runs the SIAM Assured programme. The accreditation aims to provide a standard measure of SIAM maturity that buyers can reference during procurement exercises.
Atos operates globally with about 63,000 employees and annual revenue of about €8 billion, according to company figures. The group operates in 61 countries under the Atos and Eviden brands.
The company said it will take part in the SIAM Leadership Council following the accreditation.
