AccountsIQ has announced the appointment of James Hunter as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Evan O'Shea as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) as part of its senior leadership expansion.
James Hunter brings extensive experience as a chartered accountant from PwC. During his tenure at PwC, he worked in both the Assurance department and Finance Managed Services team, where he focused on tech-led process improvements and successfully onboarded various businesses. In his new role at AccountsIQ, Hunter will manage the company's financial growth with a focus on data- and experience-led decisions. He will also oversee the Onboarding team, enhancing the company's controlled automation in the finance function.
In his statement, James Hunter expressed his enthusiasm about joining AccountsIQ: "AccountsIQ has fantastic people, a great product, brilliant service and is going through a high period of growth which is undoubtedly going to accelerate throughout 2025. The continued development of the AccountsIQ product and service is something I am particularly passionate about as I take on this role. As a company that is dedicated to improving the finance function and the office of the CFO, we deeply understand the challenges that finance teams face, and can give them the tools they need to elevate the financial and business decisions that they make."
Joining alongside Hunter is Evan O'Shea, who steps into the role of CMO. O'Shea has nearly a decade's worth of marketing experience from his time at Sage, where he played a significant role in the firm's shift to Software as a Service (SaaS). His objective at AccountsIQ is to develop a data-driven, customer-centric marketing team aiming to position the accounting software company as a preferred choice for businesses upgrading from outdated systems.
Evan O'Shea commented on his appointment saying: "My mission at AccountsIQ is to elevate the marketing function into a growth engine that delivers exceptional value to customers, measurable impact for stakeholders, and a brand that customers trust and love. Importantly, I want the process to be fun, for our team, for the business, and for our customers. By fostering a culture of creativity and innovation, we can deliver award-winning campaigns and create brand moments that resonate with our audience and position AIQ as an industry leader."
Darren Cran, CEO at AccountsIQ, remarked on the recent leadership changes: "At AccountsIQ we have significant growth plans and have an excellent senior leadership team to support us on this journey. James and Evan have seen the impact AccountsIQ has on its customers, and I have every faith that they will position AccountsIQ as the market leader it deserves to be as we continue to expand the AccountsIQ Group."
The company has also promoted from within, with Sinead Brennan taking on the role of Product Lead after her tenure as Head of Services. Brennan began her journey at AccountsIQ after implementing the software during her time as Group Financial Controller at Kefron. Her responsibilities will include overseeing Reporting, External Integration Services, and Product Design.
In addition to these leadership announcements, AccountsIQ has received accolades such as the Deloitte Fast 50 Ireland and recognition in the TechRound 100, affirming the company's growth and customer satisfaction.
