Appdome unveils AI-driven defence for mobile threat management
Appdome has introduced Threat Dynamics, an AI-powered mobile defence platform designed to enhance pre-emptive threat management capabilities for mobile businesses.
The new platform has been integrated into Appdome's existing ThreatScope Mobile XDR, enabling continuous evaluation of potential exploits across over 400 attack vectors using AI deep learning.
This feature allows businesses to calculate a unique Mobile Risk Index for their applications, empowering them to address threats before they escalate. Additionally, businesses can use Threat Dynamics to benchmark their applications against a large data stream of global mobile fraud and cyber threat events.
Tom Tovar, Co-Creator and CEO of Appdome, commented, "On top of lightning-fast incident response, mobile businesses want to benchmark their mobile defence posture against the industry and preempt mobile threats before they escalate. Mobile businesses don't want to play 'whack a mole' with fraud, scams, and cyber-attacks. They want AI-driven reconnaissance and benchmarking plus the rapid and automated response of XDR in one platform. They want to operationalize extended threat management across the full lifecycle of the mobile business."
As the mobile business landscape expands, the variety and frequency of fraud and cyber-attacks have increased, presenting challenges from various adversaries. Appdome has positioned its platform to aid businesses in managing dynamic threat environments by utilizing their expansive data set and machine learning. This approach allows for a broad analysis of threats and an ability to preemptively address them.
Eric Newcomer, CTO at Intellyx, added, "Appdome already improves productivity for dev and cyber security teams, automating engineering work and reducing security review time. As more attacks target the mobile channel, it is more important than ever to combine fraud and other threat data from the mobile business under a single pane of glass. Appdome's huge data set and AI-driven defence model give businesses the power to pre-empt fraud and deliver immediate responses to any such threats and attacks."
Mobile businesses often face limitations due to data siloes and point products that provide isolated insights into app security and threats.
According to Appdome, these solutions often lead to inaccurate severity designations and inefficient detection of attacks. The company claims that Threat Dynamics overcomes these challenges by continuously analysing and ranking mobile threats in real-time.
Avi Yehuda, CTO of Appdome, stated, "Assume you had a service that received all the fraud, bot, cyber-attack, and defence data in the mobile economy."
"Inside this data set, you can use AI deep learning to continuously analyse, find patterns, and rank billions of threat events in real time and start to use this data to provide predictive insights and benchmark comparisons that give businesses the power to manage threats as an ongoing part of the business."
Threat Dynamics not only provides a dynamic Mobile Risk Index but also visualises the movement of threats across various dimensions like apps, devices, and networks. This feature aids businesses in understanding attack patterns and prioritising defence strategies.
Chris Roeckl, Chief Product Officer at Appdome, explained, "Mobile threat intelligence has traditionally looked at data in the rear-view mirror or worse, with blinders on."
"Mobile businesses can't wait to address the biggest attacks after the fact, waste time trying to manually evaluate threat data from multiple siloes or overreact to the wrong attack. The purpose of Threat Dynamics is to give businesses the power of AI deep learning to allow businesses to preempt attacks and manage and reduce their mobile risk as an active part of the business."
