DTE has announced the appointment of Auður Þórnadóttir as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Auður, a seasoned expert in startup financing, is expected to enhance DTE's financial foundation during its expansion within the aluminium industry. Her extensive background in managing finances for emerging companies is seen as a valuable asset to the firm.

Most recently, Auður served as Chief Financial Officer at ORF Genetics, an Icelandic biotech company. During her tenure, she managed EU Horizon 2020 grant funding, led a bond issuance, and supported the company's scaling efforts. Her career also includes roles at Geysir Green Energy and Bioeffect, alongside her work with Avania Data Center.

Karl Ágúst Matthíasson, DTE's Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, commented, "We're delighted to welcome Auður Þórnadóttir to the executive team. With extensive experience in areas ranging from financial leadership and strategic growth to system implementation and governance, Auður is the ideal executive to oversee our next growth phase from an innovative startup into a major aluminium industry player. With Auður on board as CFO, we will be better equipped to handle the challenges that expansion inevitably brings. Her financial experience in international business, overseeing the financial structuring of complex startups make her the ideal person to ensure that DTE remains financially sound and efficient as it transitions from a startup into a major industry player."

In her new role at DTE, Auður will be instrumental in supporting the company's growth and further establishing its financial strategies. The company's leadership team, which includes Board Chairman Sigríður Olgeirsdóttir and Director of Engineering Iðunn Arnardóttir, reflects a diverse array of talent driving DTE's expansion.

"It's a privilege to join a company which is genuinely revolutionising the aluminium industry," noted Auður Þórnadóttir. "With the industry facing new challenges including increased protectionism and supply disruption as well as an urgent need to decarbonise, it needs the kind of innovative solutions that DTE offers if it is to continue meeting the unprecedented demand. I look forward to supporting DTE to further develop its financial foundation as more and more producers and recyclers incorporate our technology into their processes."

DTE, founded in 2014, provides digital solutions for the aluminium industry aimed at making production safer and more cost-effective. Their proprietary technology, Liquid-Phase Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LP-LIBS), allows for real-time chemical analysis of molten metal.

By integrating advanced AI with their LP-LIBS technology, DTE enables producers to identify impurities or errors instantly, thus optimising energy use and reducing operational costs. This positions the company uniquely to support the aluminium industry's need for sustainable production methods.
