Emburse launches AI app to streamline global expense reporting

Today

Emburse has announced the release of a new AI-powered mobile application for enterprise expense management, featuring enhancements intended to streamline expense reporting and reimbursement for business travellers globally.

The new Emburse Enterprise app introduces a series of updates, including advanced artificial intelligence capabilities that aim to predict missing or unclear information and adapt to a wide variety of data formats. According to the company, these improvements are designed to facilitate more precise data extraction and improve the accuracy of expense reporting.

Paul Nagy, Chief Product Officer at Emburse, commented on the new launch: "The new Emburse Enterprise mobile app makes submitting and approving expenses practically effortless. It delivers a smooth, intuitive experience that accelerates reimbursements and payments while helping enterprises track and control their spend. Accuracy is significantly boosted across language, currency, and hand written values. This is just the beginning of the power that AI will unleash across our Travel and Expense solutions."

One of the key features highlighted by Emburse is the AI-powered receipt capture, which supports auto-capture, receipt border detection, customisable cropping, PDF upload, and multi-page capture for lengthy receipts and folios. This technology eliminates the need for physical receipts and manual data entry, offering a paperless workflow for users needing to track their expenses.

The new mobile application also offers a personalised home dashboard that enables users to quickly capture, review, and submit expenses. This is intended to simplify the process and reduce the administrative burden traditionally associated with expense reporting.

In response to the requirements of a global workforce, Emburse has incorporated multilingual functionality supporting more than 35 international languages and introduced AI-driven Optical Character Recognition (OCR) transcription. This addition aims to support international business travellers by ensuring language is not a barrier to accurate expense management.

The application supports both full and partial report approvals, allowing each approver to address specific line items independently rather than waiting for all components of a report to be reviewed. In addition to expense reports, the app enables the approval of pre-approvals, invoices, and purchase orders, where applicable.

For enterprise customers, additional elements include secure Single Sign-On (SSO) login, offline access, and a platform built to meet global security and compliance standards.

Emburse stated that the end-to-end expense management features included in its Enterprise mobile app are available at no extra cost for current customers. The application can be downloaded through Google Play and the Apple App Store in all covered territories.

According to customer feedback, the new app has resulted in noticeable operational improvements. Shelton Palmer, Expense and Card Administrator at Austin Powder, said: "Emburse is the most feature-rich yet cost-effective solution. We can now reimburse travellers up to 75% faster."

Feedback from initial adopters also notes that the mobile app is user-friendly and closely mirrors the experience of its desktop counterpart, minimising the need for additional training during implementation.

The company indicates that the new solution is part of a scalable platform intended to accommodate future enhancements in travel and expense management, powered by increased automation and AI technology.
