Enosi & Evolve Energy team up for UK market launch

Tue, 8th Apr 2025

Australian energy technology company Enosi has announced a partnership with UK-based Evolve Energy to bring its Powertracer technology to the UK corporate energy market.

Enosi has developed Powertracer, a software platform that facilitates clean energy matching, and this partnership aims to extend the technology's application to UK corporate energy buyers. Evolve Energy, an energy supplier known for flexible contracts, will facilitate this introduction, enabling renewable energy trading.

James Hall, Chief Operating Officer of Evolve Energy, emphasised the benefit of the collaboration by stating: "With a proven track record in the Australian, Singaporean and European markets, Enosi is the perfect partner to help us launch this energy matching software solution to the UK market. Their Powertracer technology matches half-hourly export metered generation to import metered demand, giving generators greater control over where their energy goes and providing consumers with cleaner and traceable energy."

The Powertracer technology is said to allow generators greater control over their energy distribution, while consumers benefit from traceable and cleaner energy. Hall indicated that Enosi's capabilities have expanded what Evolve Energy could offer its customers, especially as the complexity of energy matching increases.

The timing of this partnership aligns with recent regulatory changes in the UK energy market. Ofgem's approval of Proposition 442 facilitates cost savings for consumers whose energy demand corresponds with license-exempt generators, which reduces unintended policy costs.

Hall elaborated on the regulatory advantages, saying, "Industry regulations put the consumer first, but while the foundation of the current legislative framework for matched energy is already established, many consumers haven't known about it or haven't been able to access it. By providing ancillary services to facilitate agreements between generators and consumers, we are enabling our customers to reduce cost and directly contribute towards UK net zero targets."

The Enosi-Evolve partnership follows a successful trial, and both companies believe this collaboration will offer unique savings opportunities while supporting the UK's net zero targets.

Steve Hoy, Chief Executive Officer at Enosi, commented on the strategic partnership: "Combining Evolve's deep market expertise, with our advanced matching technology gives consumers and generators a smarter, safer and more flexible way to trade clean energy."

Hoy further noted that the partnership demonstrates the potential benefits of matching clean energy in the UK market. He stated: "This partnership shows the value waiting to be unlocked by matching clean energy in the UK market. Evolve Energy stood out as the right partner because they were already supporting their customers with matching services and have a strong track record of delivering innovative supply solutions. We were impressed with their appetite for innovation and motivation to leverage software technology to unlock unique savings opportunities for their customers."
