KOMI Group promotes key executives amidst strong growth

Tue, 1st Apr 2025

Manchester-based KOMI Group has announced the promotions of three executives following significant growth figures.

Sian Broderick has been named Managing Director of KOMI Publishing, Terry Pierce has taken up the role of Group Operations Director, and Rachel Latham has become Group Finance Director. Their contributions have been vital in the company's expansion and they are now set to play crucial roles in KOMI's strategic planning.

The company's financial performance reported a 45 per cent rise in annual turnover and a notable 77 per cent increase in fourth quarter revenues compared to the previous year. These executive appointments are intended to support further business expansion.

KOMI Group is divided into three distinct sectors: KOMI Publishing, which distributes content across various social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram; ARK by KOMI, which focuses on digital content curation and licensing; and KOMI Talent, which supports online creators in building sustainable careers through data-oriented strategies.

In her new position, Sian Broderick will be tasked with expanding the publishing arm, ensuring the division remains competitive in the evolving media sector. She joined KOMI in 2021 and previously served as Head of KOMI Publishing, where she was responsible for building a team that increased the division's brands to reach 4 billion monthly views. She will continue to leverage KOMI Insights for strategic content publishing.

Terry Pierce, now Group Operations Director, will focus on enabling leaders across KOMI's divisions to foster growth. Terry has previously served as the Growth and Strategy Director, driving important acquisitions and operational enhancements. He has been influential since 2021, contributing to the growth of the company's workforce from 25 to over 120 employees.

Rachel Latham, in her new role as Group Finance Director, will oversee financial decision-making within KOMI. Having joined the company in 2023 as Financial Controller, she has worked to integrate the finance team across departments, promoting a transparent financial approach.

With 21 internal promotions in the past quarter alone, KOMI's growth trajectory has been supported by substantial investments from BGF. An initial round in November 2022 and a further GBP £5.5 million funding in July 2024 have contributed to more than GBP £10 million in total funding from BGF, aiding in the company's international expansion and mergers and acquisitions strategies.

Sam Lenehan, Group Managing Director at KOMI Group, commented: "As we continue to build on our momentum, having just delivered a record Q1 turnover, at just under four times its level when BGF invested back in 2022, these promotions are an important milestone for KOMI. We're at a defining moment: expanding internationally, revolutionising our operations, and capitalising on the potential of our platform. This expansion wouldn't be possible without the exceptional leadership of Sian, Terry, and Rachel. They've demonstrated their commitment and dedication to the wider team, setting and exceeding ambitious goals, and I'm certain that they will continue to propel KOMI forward."

Andrew Trotman, Founder and CEO of KOMI Group, added: "We're on a mission to build the world's most engaged digital audiences, and having the right leadership team is fundamental to achieving that goal. Our audience has grown twenty fold in the last four years, now reaching 150 million people worldwide. These promotions reflect our commitment to innovation, strategic leadership, and delivering high quality content at scale. As we expand internationally, we're focused on strengthening our ability to connect with people, leveraging cutting-edge strategies and data-driven solutions to serve our audiences worldwide."
