Maureen Costello named UKI & Africa VP for Google Cloud

Google Cloud has appointed Maureen Costello as Vice President for the United Kingdom and Ireland (UKI) and Sub-Saharan Africa.

In her new position, Maureen Costello will oversee the sales strategy and operations for Google Cloud across these regions, aiming to drive growth. Her extensive career spans nearly 30 years in technology leadership roles, having previously been Corporate Vice President for Industry Solutions Delivery at Microsoft and holding various leadership roles during her 25 years at Accenture, including Senior Managing Director and Resources Lead for UKI.

Commenting on her new appointment, Maureen Costello stated, "It's an honour to join Google Cloud at such a pivotal time in its journey. We have a tremendous opportunity to help businesses across the UKI and Sub-Saharan Africa harness the full potential of the cloud, from AI and data analytics to cybersecurity and sustainability. I am eager to build on the strong foundation already in place."

Maureen joins Google Cloud at a significant stage of development for the company. Recently, Google Cloud has secured several major partnerships in the UK, collaborating with BT, John Lewis & Partners, Vodafone, and WPP. In Africa, the company inaugurated its first regional hub in Johannesburg, South Africa, in January 2024, alongside a commitment of USD $1 billion to support digital transformation efforts across the continent.
