Anna Keren, a seasoned tech veteran, has been announced as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for VivaCity, a transport technology company known for its innovative approach to creating smarter and more efficient cities. This marks a significant stride in the company's strategic positioning, with Keren introduced to further advance VivaCity's transformative technology and solutions.
Prior to joining VivaCity, Keren served as Chief Technology and Product Officer at Thirdfort. Her experience also includes roles such as Vice President of Technology at ComplyAdvantage and Director of Engineering at Babylon Health. This technology aids in strategic decision-making, enabling the optimisation of transport networks and urban infrastructure. It is essential in its goal to make urban centres more liveable and efficient.
As Keren steps in, VivaCity's co-founder and previous CTO, Yang Lu, will shift his role to Technical Founder. This new designation allows Yang Lu to channel his extensive expertise towards tackling some of the most challenging problems the industry faces.
Mark Nicholson, CEO and co-founder of VivaCity, expressed his enthusiasm about Keren's appointment. He said, "Anna brings a wealth of experience from key tech sectors, and will be essential in the continued advancement of VivaCity's products. With our ongoing international expansion and the evolution of our Smart Road Safety technology, she will be an integral part of the company's innovation in the coming years. We'd also like to thank Yang for his invaluable contribution and dedication since we founded VivaCity together with Peter Mildon back in 2015."
Anna Keren reciprocated Nicholson's excitement about her new venture with VivaCity. "VivaCity is spearheading innovation within the transport technology sector, and has an unwavering commitment to improving the sustainability and efficiency of roads and cities. The company is on an incredibly exciting journey, and I look forward to being part of its next chapter," she commented.
The beginning of 2024 has marked significant achievements for VivaCity, including CEO Mark Nicholson being shortlisted for a WCIT Enterprise Award. The company has been active in the industry scene, attending numerous events in the UK, Ireland, and the US, such as TRA Dublin 2024 and ITS America. Anna Keren's appointment as CTO is expected to add more momentum to VivaCity's growth trajectory.
