Baloise enhances input management with AI cloud transition
Swiss insurance group Baloise has transitioned its comprehensive input management processes to Insiders Technologies' AI-powered cloud solutions.
Baloise has been utilising Insiders Technologies' AI solution, OvAItion, for automated document processing for nearly 15 years, now fully migrating these solutions to Insiders Cloud. This shift is aimed at enhancing efficiency and hastening the integration of product innovations into Baloise's operations.
Baloise, headquartered in Basel with additional operations in Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg, maintains its mission as a financial facilitator while embracing a clear multi-cloud strategy. This strategy encompasses a combination of private cloud infrastructure and an Azure-based public cloud, supplemented by cloud services from providers like Insiders Technologies, to reinforce their service offerings.
The insurance firm orchestrates the processing of approximately 140,000 documents monthly, some containing up to 1,000 pages. These documents are submitted through diverse channels, including paper, email, chat, apps, and portals, necessitating distribution across more than 250 document categories.
To navigate these extensive processing requirements, Baloise employs Insiders Technologies' comprehensive suite for universal document recognition, reading, and intelligent invoice management, aimed at streamlining accounts payable operations. The company recently adopted the GenerAItor tool to facilitate no-code process creation to empower specific departmental use cases, all deployed as cloud-based services from Insiders.
Timo Kohler, Product Owner Input Management at Baloise, underscores the significance of this support, "Insiders translates all relevant AI trends from research into practical solutions. Its intelligent products are our universal tool for processing input of all kinds, and we derive great benefits from their use in the automation of processes."
Transitioning to these enhanced technologies has not only improved Baloise's operational efficiency by relieving staff of routine tasks, allowing a focus on core capabilities, but also expedited the fulfillment of business demands by a factor of three to four. This upgrade allows quicker adoption of new product improvements and the integration of innovative use cases.
"The potential of Insiders AI OvAItion, especially with the possibility of integrating LLMs, is huge. We currently have a to-do list of around 50 use cases that we want to automate and optimise with AI. The Insiders Cloud and the No-Code-GenerAItor make implementation particularly easy for us," elaborated Timo Kohler, illustrating the innovative leap facilitated by Insiders' solutions.
Over the span of 18 months, Baloise successfully migrated all six of its clients involved in the input management domain to the Insiders Cloud in staged phases. This transformation enabled real-time processing and event-driven control, ensuring that damage reports are swiftly available in the system within a few minutes, independent of the input source.
