CCL urges eCommerce firms to stay optimistic amid tough trade

Wed, 4th Jun 2025

Global logistics and customs brokerage provider CCL has expressed continued commitment to assisting eCommerce businesses as they face increasingly complex international trade conditions.

Amid heightened tariffs and ongoing uncertainty in global markets, many companies involved in importing and exporting goods have expressed concerns regarding the effects these factors may have on their operations.

CCL, with its long-standing experience in cross-border customs clearance and freight forwarding, states that it is actively supporting businesses as they adjust to shifting trade dynamics. The company maintains that international online retailers should adopt an optimistic outlook in the current environment.

"The current environment is undoubtedly challenging but also presents an opportunity to strengthen supply chain strategies and forge new partnerships," said Stuart Campey, Chief Executive Officer at CCL.

"Despite the uncertainties, it still looks like consumers are prioritising the value, convenience and speed of online shopping, giving global eCommerce retailers a clear opportunity," he said.

Since 1999, CCL has offered tailored solutions to eCommerce retailers and delivery providers, aiming to simplify and expedite shipments entering and exiting the United Kingdom and the Eurozone.

According to CCL, initial expectations that the eCommerce sector would be significantly affected by tariffs and market volatility may have been overstated, suggesting the sector could demonstrate greater resilience.

Market analysts have echoed this sense of optimism, identifying ongoing and prospective prospects for the industry. Data from the 'Worldwide Retail eCommerce Forecast 2025' prepared by EMarketer and updated in April indicates that the eCommerce sector is expected to experience only a minor decrease this year, with a steady recovery projected for subsequent years.

CCL is a logistics service provider that specialises in gateway logistics and eCommerce. The company handles all aspects of importation and exportation, including gateway customs clearance and compliance, warehousing, break bulk, and onward delivery. Its services are specifically tailored to meet the needs of global eCommerce retailers and delivery businesses.

Stuart Campey added, "eCommerce has become a way of life for many consumers as they simply pick and choose the products they desire, with confidence they will be delivered. With the right support, businesses can benefit from fast, reliable shipping and a seamless post-purchase experience that keeps customers coming back."

CCL provides integrated services, maintains international connections, and operates a strategically located External Temporary Storage Facility warehouse. The company offers bespoke logistics solutions for cross-border eCommerce goods entering Europe via air, sea, road, and rail.

"At CCL, we're proud to support businesses trading internationally and we are keen to help our clients overcome challenges and embrace opportunities," said Campey.

"Whatever the future holds, we will be committed to helping our eCommerce partners reach their full potential," he said.
