Dext has appointed Nicole Bello as Chief Revenue Officer, putting the former Dayforce executive in charge of its global revenue organisation.

Bello joins as Dext expands its payments product. UK customers have already processed more than £11 million through Dext Payments.

She will oversee revenue teams across the UK, Canada, France and Australia. Her remit includes building a single global commercial organisation and creating greater consistency between regions as the business grows.

Bello brings more than 20 years of sales leadership experience across North America and EMEA. Before joining Dext, she was Group Vice President, EMEA, at Dayforce and previously held senior sales roles at UKG and ADP.

The appointment comes during a period of product expansion at the bookkeeping software group, which is part of IRIS Software Group. Alongside the launch of Dext Payments in the UK, it has added payroll payments, widened access to QuickBooks Online users, and put international payments into beta.

Dext Payments is also now in beta in Canada and Australia. The company said it had been its most requested product addition.

Elsewhere, the group has rolled out AI Assist, a tool designed to automate routine bookkeeping decisions such as transaction categorisation and data structuring for each client. Since launch, the tool has automated 83% of edits and reached nearly 2,500 licences sold. Core Guidance was extended globally in May.

Dext serves more than 12,000 accounting and bookkeeping firms and 700,000 businesses worldwide. It was acquired by IRIS Software Group in 2024.

Commenting on the hire, Dext Chief Executive Officer Sabby Gill linked Bello's arrival to the company's wider expansion.

"This has been a landmark year for Dext: we launched Payments, extended it to QuickBooks Online, and rolled out AI Assist. Nicole's arrival could not be better timed. She joins a company that is already indispensable to more than 12,000 accounting and bookkeeping firms and 700,000 businesses worldwide, the place where the work gets finished, not just started. Nicole is exactly the right person to lead our revenue teams as we push further into that opportunity, in every region we operate," said Gill.

Bello said the company's people, ambitions and market opportunity drew her to the role.

"It was the combination of the people, the ambition and the opportunity that drew me to Dext. Every conversation reinforced that Dext has a fantastic product and an incredibly talented team. My focus now is making sure that ambition is felt everywhere - in how we work with our partners, how our users experience us, and in every market we operate in. I want our global community to feel the difference: faster support, closer partnership, and a Dext that keeps getting better, together," said Bello.

Her initial focus will be on meeting staff, customers and partners across Dext's markets to assess what is working well and where improvements or new opportunities may exist. Those discussions will help shape priorities for the coming period.

Commercial push

The hire points to a stronger commercial focus as Dext looks to align regional operations around a single structure. For software groups selling to accounting practices and small businesses across several markets, revenue leadership roles often cover not just sales execution but also partner strategy, customer retention and go-to-market consistency.

Dext's emphasis on Bello's cross-regional experience reflects that challenge. Her background spans both larger multinational companies and faster-growing software businesses, giving her experience of scaling teams in different operating environments.

Payments growth

The £11 million processed by UK customers through Dext Payments offers an early measure of uptake for a product line that broadens the company's role in accounting workflows. Rather than focusing only on document capture and bookkeeping processes, the payments push extends Dext further into transaction execution.

That expansion may also help explain the timing of the revenue appointment. As software suppliers add adjacent functions, they often need tighter coordination between product, regional sales and partner channels to present a clearer offer to accountants, bookkeepers and business customers.

Bello will also work to maximise opportunities arising from Dext's relationship with IRIS. The company joined the software group two years ago, adding a bookkeeping automation business to IRIS's portfolio.

Leadership background

Outside core sales leadership, Bello has also spent time mentoring staff and leading employee resource groups, including Women in Leadership, Black employee networks and disability inclusion initiatives. That background suggests her brief will extend into organisational development as Dext brings together teams across multiple regions.

For now, the clearest near-term indicator of Dext's commercial progress will be whether it can convert recent product launches into broader adoption across its international base. UK customers have already processed more than £11 million through Dext Payments, while the service remains in beta in Canada and Australia.
