Emerchantpay reports 25.7% rise in Q3 processing volume
Wed, 28th Oct 2026 (Today)
Emerchantpay reported a 25.7% year-on-year increase in processing volume in the third quarter, while the number of transactions processed rose 24.9%.
The payments group attributed the growth to new merchant wins, expansion within existing customer accounts and continued investment in its products.
Demand for payment services has continued to rise as businesses look for systems that can handle larger transaction volumes and meet local market requirements. Larger merchants in particular are seeking payment partners that can manage more complex operations across multiple markets.
One area of investment has been its pay-out product, used by platform businesses to pay individual and corporate sellers at scale. Emerchantpay said it has increased spending on the offering to support the needs of larger merchants.
Merchant demand
The company operates across online, mobile, in-store and over-the-phone payments. It also acts as an acquirer, giving merchants access to payment acceptance and related services through a single integration.
Growth in processing volume is closely watched in the payments sector because it can indicate whether merchants are routing more of their payment flows through a provider. An increase in transaction numbers can also point to broader customer adoption, though the two measures do not always move at the same pace.
In Emerchantpay's case, processing volume grew slightly faster than transaction numbers, suggesting the average value of payments handled by the business may also have increased during the quarter. The company did not disclose the total value of payments processed or provide revenue figures in the announcement.
"These results show that merchants want more from their payments partner. Checkout performance now has a direct impact on sales and customer retention, so merchants are choosing partners who can help them grow, not just process payments. Our growth this quarter reflects new strategic wins and existing customers trusting us with more of their business. As we head into peak retail season, ambitious merchants need payment infrastructure that scales when it matters most, and the expertise to keep performance high across every market they operate in," said Alexander Berrai, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Emerchantpay.
Product focus
Merchant requirements are becoming more demanding as businesses expand internationally. That includes support for local payment preferences, higher volumes and country-specific rules, as well as the ability to maintain payment performance as operations grow.
Payment providers have been competing to deepen relationships with larger merchants by offering broader services beyond basic transaction processing. These often include fraud tools, local payment options, settlement support and pay-out functions for platforms and marketplaces.
Emerchantpay said its recent commercial momentum came from both securing strategic merchants and increasing the amount of business handled for existing customers. That pattern can be important for payment companies because retaining and expanding current merchant relationships can be less costly than winning entirely new business.
The group also pointed to industry recognition received this year. It was named Fintech of the Year at The Brit Fintech Awards 2026 and won two categories at The FinTech Awards 2026: Personal Banking, Personal Payments and Money Management; and Hospitality and Catering. It has also been shortlisted in two categories at The Banking Tech Awards 2026.
While awards do not directly measure commercial performance, they can help raise a company's profile in a crowded payments market where providers compete for large merchant contracts and cross-border business.
Emerchantpay did not provide a breakdown of growth by geography, merchant segment or product line. It also did not say how much of the increase came from new customers, compared with higher payment volumes from existing clients.
Still, the latest figures indicate continued expansion as merchants review how payment operations affect conversion, customer retention and international growth.
