FE fundinfo has launched Nexus AI, an artificial intelligence tool embedded in its Nexus platform to address efficiency and compliance needs for investment professionals.

Nexus AI serves as an enablement layer within the Nexus platform, automating a variety of processes involved in data management, compliance, and reporting across the investment lifecycle. Built using technology from the recently acquired Lunar AI, this tool transforms tasks such as compliance checks, research, documentation, and client servicing into streamlined, secure workflows.

Operational demands

Asset managers in the UK investment industry continue to face operational and regulatory pressure. Research conducted by FE fundinfo found that nearly 90% of asset managers require faster and more precise fund data delivery. A further 37% highlighted regulatory document production as the most resource-intensive process, while 46% identified legacy systems as significant barriers to operational efficiency.

The suite of capabilities released with Nexus AI aims to address these concerns. Among its key features, the Document Inspector function automatically checks regulatory documents against more than 600 UK CCI rules, which aids in reducing compliance risks and provides early visibility into upcoming regulatory requirements. Meanwhile, the conversational user interface allows managers to ask questions regarding markets, competitors, and internal documents using natural language, keeping all activity secure within Nexus.

In addition, the Smart Notifications function automatically flags missing data, market changes, and outstanding queries to help managers maintain accuracy and compliance. The platform's AI-powered search and large language model tools unify data across filings, fund datasets, and internal documents to surface insights efficiently. Onboarding and training are also simplified by the Platform Assistant, enabling consistent use of AI processes throughout teams.

Adviser efficiency

According to the data shared by FE fundinfo, 61% of advisers spend over 20% of each client meeting collecting or updating data-exactly 12 minutes per hour-long session. Time lost is compounded by the rekeying of data into systems, which impacts both efficiency and integrity.

Nexus AI's workflow improvements are intended to address these inefficiencies. For financial advisers, the Meeting Agent component automatically joins and transcribes client meetings, saving between 30 and 60 minutes per session. Meeting transcripts are then transformed into adaptive client recaps and next-step documents using AI-powered reporting templates.

The Integrated Workflow Layer links actions across FE CashCalc, FE Analytics, meetings, and FE fundinfo's datasets, while the Smart Data Capture feature extracts and maps key client information directly into FE CashCalc, reducing manual entry and increasing accuracy. The embedded daily toolkit works alongside advisers' existing operations to support efficiency and scalability.
