Forterro launches new cloud ERP solution for UK manufacturers
Forterro, a European provider of ERP software solutions, has introduced its initial cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution in the UK. Fortee is designed specifically to address the needs of SME discrete manufacturers and industrial startups. This novel entry-level SaaS ERP solution utilises 15 years of expertise in cloud-ERP implementation and aims to target organisations that haven't previously incorporated ERP into their processes.
Fortee has its foundational roots in Forterro's successful cloud ERP solution, Sylob. Yet, it is tailored with the functionalities and features most relevant to its intended audience, encompassing purchasing, production, CRM, supply chain management, and more. The idea is to provide firms with a robust, industry-relevant set of capabilities without requiring extensive customisation or the deployment of large-scale systems.
Benot Wambergue, VP of Product Management, Forterro, stated, "There are thousands of smaller manufacturers likely relying on manual processes or muddling through with spreadsheets. These companies recognise the need to centralise and streamline business processes, but they don't have the resources for extensive customisation or large-scale deployments. Fortee is the perfect option. It has industry-relevant features based on 15 years' experience, is designed specifically for small manufacturers, and users can be fully up and running in weeks."
Over the last decade, Forterro has evolved from providing on-premise ERP solutions mainly in the Nordics to a multi-product, pan-European company with a strong focus on cloud-based solutions. Steve Fearon, President, Northern Europe, Forterro, said, "All our products are focused on helping businesses run smoother, getting products to the right place at the right time and helping people make smarter, data-based decisions." Fortee looks poised to assist smaller manufacturers on their digital transformation journey, potentially enhancing operational efficiency, which can often be a significant hurdle for such businesses.
After its initial successful launch in France in the first quarter of 2024, Fortee is expected to extend to other countries later in the year. The first Fortee customers in the UK include Versinetic, a global leader in the EV charging market. Before the implementation of Fortee, the company managed its manufacturing operations through manual processes, spreadsheets, and limited automation. Ritchie Perry, Production Engineer, Versinetic, said, "Fortee ERP can be used across a variety of business sectors, but it suits electronics as the complexity of data can be managed easily with its open (cloud) approach. Fortee will play a pivotal role as we grow and look to maximise automation and remove manual intervention."
Since implementing Fortee, Versinetic has observed significant enhancements in its manufacturing and engineering operations. These improvements have positively impacted materials management, planning, and engineering data control, leading to an overall boost in Versinetic's efficiency and productivity, the company states. Wambergue further asserts, "Years and years of cloud ERP learning and experience have been put into Fortee. It's a solution that has been honed and iteratively improved for a long time, and for smaller UK manufacturers, it is a compelling choice for their first ERP solution, offering users the flexibility to oversee their operations from any location."
