GruntWorx has launched a series of tax season readiness events with Verito, The CFO Project, FileForms and Financial Cents, aimed at tax and accounting firms.

The events are intended to help accounting practices manage workflow, compliance and staffing pressures. Hosted from the company's headquarters in New Hampshire, they will feature sessions with technology and advisory partners on document processing, workflow management and firm operations.

The first session brings GruntWorx and Verito together for a discussion on tax preparation automation and compliance. Structured as a 50-minute conversation, it includes a walkthrough of a model firm scenario and guidance on technology choices tied to longer-term operational planning.

Another event in the series is Workflow Con 2026, run with Financial Cents over two days. It focuses on repeatable workflow structures designed to reduce bottlenecks during tax season, with particular attention to how document processing and workflow software can cut manual tasks and errors.

A third session brings together GruntWorx, FileForms, Financial Cents and The CFO Project for a summit on accounting firm strategy and execution. The agenda focuses on the link between firm-level decisions and day-to-day workflow changes, including the role of automation, document handling and compliance controls.

Operational focus

The event series reflects growing pressure on tax and accounting firms to manage heavier workloads without increasing headcount. Many firms have turned to software and outsourced processing to handle seasonal spikes in demand, while also trying to shift staff time toward advisory work that can offer higher margins than routine preparation.

GruntWorx is positioning the programme around that tension, emphasising the reduction of manual data entry and the standardisation of tax preparation. The sessions are intended to give firms practical steps rather than broad theory, showing how different systems and processes can work together in practice.

The approach also highlights a broader trend in the accounting software market, where vendors increasingly bundle education, partner integrations and workflow advice alongside their core products. Rather than presenting technology as a standalone purchase, suppliers are trying to show how tools fit into a firm's wider operating model.

For GruntWorx, the partner mix spans infrastructure, workflow, compliance-related filing and firm strategy. Verito focuses on hosting and IT systems, Financial Cents on workflow management, FileForms on filing processes, and The CFO Project on operational and strategic guidance for firms.

Capacity pressures

For many practices, the underlying issue is capacity. Tax firms often face compressed deadlines, fragmented client documentation and significant manual review work, all of which can create strain during peak filing periods. The challenge has become more acute as firms contend with hiring constraints and client expectations for faster turnaround.

By framing the sessions around tax season readiness, GruntWorx is targeting one of the sector's clearest annual pain points. The message across the programme is that firms can use automation and tighter workflow discipline to absorb more work and improve consistency without immediately adding staff.

GruntWorx describes itself as an automation partner for tax professionals, offering tools for document organisation, data entry and workflow management. Its latest programme suggests it sees education and partner-led events as a way to deepen engagement with firms reassessing how they handle preparation work and compliance processes.

A spokesperson for GruntWorx said the initiative is designed to help firms facing mounting pressure.

"Accounting firms are under immense pressure to do more with less," the spokesperson said. "By partnering with other organizations dedicated to the success of tax and accounting firms such as The CFO Project, Verito, FileForms and Financial Cents, we're giving firms the tools and training they need to reclaim time, reduce stress, and build more profitable practices."
