Intuit has launched Intuit Intelligence for QuickBooks and Intuit Accountant Suite in Canada as part of a wider international rollout that also includes the UK and Australia.

The update adds artificial intelligence tools designed to help small businesses and accountants complete financial tasks inside QuickBooks, rather than simply using AI to answer questions. The tools are intended to automate recurring work, surface insights and recommend next steps, while leaving final decisions to users.

The features are being introduced through QuickBooks and Intuit's software for accounting firms. They are rolling out in beta to QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Advanced customers in international markets, while availability in Intuit Accountant Suite will vary by product and region.

Ciarán Quilty, Senior Vice President, International, Intuit, said the change reflects a broader shift in how companies use software.

"We're at the beginning of a fundamental transformation in how businesses operate around the world," said Ciarán Quilty, Senior Vice President, International, Intuit. "The next generation of growth won't come from more software, but from intelligent systems that combine AI with trusted financial data and the expertise of accountants to help businesses make better decisions and achieve better outcomes. At Intuit, that's the future we're building for our customers in every market."

Rather than relying on a single model, the system uses large language models for reasoning, machine learning for prediction and deterministic code where precision is needed, the company said.

Business tools

For businesses, the new functions include Automations, which lets users describe a recurring task in conversational language and turn it into an automated workflow. Another feature, Autonomous Invoicing, creates and sends invoices from a customer's documents and automatically handles reminders and updates.

Intuit is also adding Conversational Custom Reports, which allows users to generate tailored reports and view projected cash flow using ledger history, bank activity and predictive analysis. The changes are meant to help businesses keep accounts in better order and speed up payments.

Hanna Kim-Yoo, Founder and Owner of Oori Noa, a Canadian children's apparel company, described the software's effect on day-to-day administration.

"When Intuit Intelligence automatically categorizes expenses for my review, creates the custom reports I need, or sends invoice reminders on its own so I don't have to chase payments, that's less time I'm spending on the administrative side of the business," said Hanna Kim-Yoo, Founder and Owner of Oori Noa, a Canadian children's apparel company. "That's invaluable time I can put towards the business, whether that's the product, our customers, or thinking about what's next for my brand."

Accounting firms

For accountants, Intuit Accountant Suite is being updated with cross-client portfolio insights, firm playbooks and changes to the unified inbox. The cross-client view is designed to let firms monitor issues across their client base without opening each file individually.

Firm Playbooks allows accounting firms to standardise their processes for setup, service standards and onboarding, then apply those settings to new clients. Updates to Unified Inbox are intended to bring client communications into one place, reducing the need to search across channels.

The aim is to reduce manual review and give accountants more time for advisory work. According to Intuit, accountants using its AI tools are spending 30% more time on client advisory work.

"Intuit Intelligence brings together AI-driven insight, proactive monitoring and portfolio-wide visibility in a way that can genuinely enhance the advisory process," said Kamran Shaikh, Managing Director at Morgan Reach Accountants, UK. "The beauty of this is that it doesn't just help us find information faster, it helps us identify risks and opportunities earlier, allowing us to spend more time delivering strategic advice on growth, tax planning and wealth creation. It's a powerful example of technology and professional expertise working together, with human judgement remaining firmly at the centre of every decision."

Adoption data

Intuit said millions of customers are already using its financial automation and insight tools each month. Early adopters report saving an average of 13 hours a month, while 70% of customers said they were confident their books were done correctly.

The company also said the platform draws on data from 10 million customers and tracks roughly 625,000 attributes per business on average. Intuit argues that this database allows it to provide recommendations and automate tasks while keeping business owners and accountants in control.

The launch comes as software groups push to move AI products beyond chat interfaces and into everyday workflows. Intuit cited its QuickBooks 2026 AI Impact Report, which found that trust, rather than cost, is now the main barrier to wider business adoption of AI, even as regular use has approached 70%.

Adolfo Fernandez, Vice President of Product, International, Intuit, said the focus is on oversight and review rather than a full handover to automation.

"This is exactly where Intuit Intelligence comes in," said Fernandez. "It's built to give owners that oversight by proactively surfacing issues before they become problems, and leaving the decision with them: a cash shortfall flagged before it happens, a question answered in seconds instead of a manual report. For accountants, it means seeing signals across their whole client base at once, instead of reviewing one file at a time, with every recommendation left for them to review and approve. Business owners get their time and confidence back. Accountants get more room to advise, not just report. That's business done right. That's how Intuit powers prosperity for its customers to win in the AI era."
