Mitchell is known for his experience in growing global technology companies across varied sectors, including construction, digital media, transportation, ERP software, and defence. Prior to joining MaxMine, he was the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at the consulting firm 9X5.

The new COO brings over 20 years of expertise to MaxMine. His professional background includes significant achievements such as expanding businesses by tenfold and leading the development of new Software-as-a-Service products.

Mitchell has also made substantial contributions in transforming operations by implementing artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions, as well as improving corporate governance and cybersecurity measures.

In his role at MaxMine, Mitchell will contribute significantly to reinforcing the company's status in providing clear insights and improvements in productivity, sustainability, and safety for open-pit mine sites. MaxMine's solutions are designed to maximise the potential of mining resources amid fluctuating market conditions, thus aiding the industry in reaching Net Zero goals.

Tom Cawley, Interim CEO and Executive Chair at MaxMine, commented: "We're delighted to have a COO of Shaun's calibre on board. He has a proven track record in growing businesses, and with MaxMine on track for significant growth over the next 12 months, it's the ideal time for a candidate of Shaun's expertise and experience to join us. His technical background will be extremely valuable for MaxMine as we continue to innovate and develop our cutting-edge solutions, designed to meet the diverse needs of modern mining operations and drive sustainable, efficient and effective mining practices."

Expressing enthusiasm for his new position, Shaun Mitchell said: "MaxMine is more than just a fleet data system. The company is at the forefront of revolutionising open-cut mining by providing the entire toolchain required to improve productivity, safety and sustainability, under the one solution, enabling improvement to be sustained over the life of mine. MaxMine's forward-thinking approach delivers tangible performance results for customers across the globe. There's no equivalent solution on the market today that can bring significant productivity, sustainability and safety improvements, especially in a sector facing challenging commodity prices and rising costs. The growth potential is huge and I'm excited to be part of that journey."
