MultiSafepay sees merchant growth after Antom integration
MultiSafepay has reported significant growth in its European SME merchant base and transaction volumes following its integration with Antom, part of Ant International.
MultiSafepay, based in Amsterdam, now serves over 20,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Europe, reflecting an 11% increase in merchant numbers since the company became part of Antom in July 2024. The provider recorded a 44% year-on-year rise in transaction volumes, attributed to the rapid deployment of point-of-sale (POS) solutions and new merchant acquisitions spanning various sectors.
In-person payments now account for 8% of MultiSafepay's total processed transaction volume, with both traditional payment terminals and Smart POS devices used across the retail and food and beverage sectors. This shift towards unified payment services is characterised by the ability to offer a blend of online and face-to-face payment methods, designed to optimise efficiency and the customer experience for smaller businesses.
MultiSafepay's offering to merchants includes support for over 40 local and international payment methods, such as cards, e-wallets, Buy Now Pay Later options, and internet banking. These can be used across in-person and online channels, providing SMEs with flexibility for various customer preferences.
The company completed its integration with Antom, leveraging its global technology suite and combining it with 25 years of in-house experience. The collaboration aims to improve operational efficiency for SMEs, increase payment success rates, and enable business expansion through technical and infrastructural enhancements.
MultiSafepay also plans to collaborate with other Ant International businesses, such as WorldFirst, aiming to broaden access to inclusive financial services for its SME merchant base.
Olaf Geurs, Chief Executive Officer of MultiSafepay, stated, "We expect to exceed our 2025 growth projections given current strong numbers and deepened partnership with Ant International. The data shows how SME partners are embracing our joint innovative solutions with Antom to accelerate their digital operations. MultiSafepay's momentum underscores the value of our collaboration in empowering businesses to succeed in today's fast-evolving world."
Gary Liu, General Manager of Antom, Ant International, commented, "Accelerating the adoption of new technologies like AI in merchant payment services enable us to raise efficiency while maximising our expertise in the SME sector. By building on MultiSafepay's platform and Antom's global expertise, we're making simple, flexible payments accessible to every business - no matter their size or ambition."
To facilitate greater collaboration with other Ant International business divisions, MultiSafepay has relocated its operations to Ant International's new office in Amsterdam's city centre. The company states this move will enable more direct benefits for SMEs through closer cooperation across Ant International's business pillars.
MultiSafepay continues to offer a range of payment terminal technologies to merchants, such as C-TAP terminals and Smart POS devices, which provide additional digital tools alongside payment acceptance. This approach, the company states, offers flexibility and cost-effectiveness for small businesses seeking solutions that fit their specific needs.
