Neil Williams joins Credas as Chief Technology Officer for growth
Credas Technologies has appointed Neil Williams as Chief Technology Officer to oversee the expansion of its technology operations and support the company's entry into new sectors and international markets.
Industry background
Williams brings over 20 years of experience in the technology sector. He previously served as interim Chief Technology Officer at Sero, and before that held senior technology roles at Alcumus and ActiveQuote. Notably, he spent more than two decades at BT Group, where he helped launch high-profile projects such as BT.com and BT Sport, moving from an IT consultant role to become Digital Content CoE Software Engineer Manager.
During his time at BT Group, Williams played a significant role in establishing and leading the digital centre of excellence, contributing to key digital initiatives and the implementation of new products and services. His expertise spans strategy development, governance, and practical implementation of large-scale technology solutions.
Strategy and growth
Williams' arrival at Credas is described as a core component in the company's strategic growth and its ambition to meet rising global compliance demands. He is tasked with heading the technology roadmap, placing a focus on governance, resilience, and AI-driven innovation which aims to support both new and existing product lines as the company scales.
"In my role at Credas, I'm focused on scaling our technology operations with a strong emphasis on governance and resilience. By leading a talented team and leveraging AI to enhance customer experiences, we're driving innovation across our SaaS platform. This positions Credas for sustainable growth and continued success in an increasingly competitive landscape."
Product developments
Credas has recently introduced several new products, including what it states is the UK's first reusable Compliance Wallet. The solution is designed to streamline the homebuying process, reducing the need for repeated compliance checks and aiming to minimise fraud risks within sectors governed by strict regulatory requirements. The company has also launched Credas Payments, a platform allowing firms to charge clients directly for compliance checks during their onboarding journey, which Credas says is designed for security and ease of use.
Credas reports that its identity verification app has been downloaded more than four million times, reflecting its position in the digital identification market. The company indicates its software is used widely by legal, property, and business professionals for remote due diligence and onboarding of clients.
Leadership perspectives
Tim Barnett, Chief Executive Officer of Credas, stated:
"Neil's experience in building technology with robust governance and resilience is exactly what we need as we enter the next phase of our growth. Our mission is to simplify compliance for customers in regulated industries, and Neil will play a vital role in ensuring our technology continues to deliver on that promise at scale."
Williams is also involved in charitable activities as an Ambassador at Velindre Cancer Centre, the company's designated charity. The Credas team has organised a charity football match scheduled for August, with the aim of raising funds for the centre.
The company has highlighted a growth trajectory based on product development and sustained focus on customer experience. As it expands its presence both within the United Kingdom and internationally, leadership underscores a commitment to compliance and service standards.
