Nissan launches Instant Service Plan with interest-free payments

Today

Nissan Motor GB has introduced the Instant Service Plan for eligible vehicles in partnership with Payment Assist and the Car Care Plan.

The Instant Service Plan enables owners of Nissan vehicles under ten years old to spread the costs of both major and minor services over 12 months. Utilising Payment Assist's payment technology and Car Care Plan's administrative support, the scheme is designed to offer customers manageable, interest-free monthly instalments. At the same time, it ensures vehicles receive manufacturer-approved servicing and parts.

The service plan is designed to appeal particularly to owners of used Nissan vehicles who are not already covered by Nissan's existing multi-year plans. Nissan aims to reach customers who might otherwise opt for independent garages or skip servicing altogether, with the scheme offering a one-year warranty on Nissan Genuine Parts and 12 months of RAC Roadside Assistance.

The package grants additional benefits by helping drivers maintain a full dealership service history. This is expected to help preserve higher residual values for their vehicles. The service plan is set to be promoted via Nissan's online channels and in dealerships across the UK to attract qualifying Nissan owners.

Marcus Gregory, CEO of Payment Assist, stated:

"Nissan's new Instant Service Plan is the ideal way for customers to maintain a full dealer service history, while benefiting from a flexible, interest-free way to pay. By using Payment Assist's payment solution, drivers can spread the cost into manageable monthly instalments. It's a win-win, offering added value for the customer's vehicle and helping dealerships retain long-term aftersales relationships."

Supporting both customers and dealerships

The Instant Service Plan is designed to support business for Nissan dealerships as well, helping them retain customers who might otherwise consider alternative servicing providers. By offering a plan with fixed monthly payments and the reassurance of a manufacturer-backed service, dealerships are expected to experience improved customer retention and future repeat business.

Car Care Plan Head of Corporate Sales, Jon Norman, said:

"We have been working with Nissan for more than 15 years, and the opportunity to bring about this new Instant Service Plan was an ideal chance to further strengthen those ties. By onboarding Payment Assist, we can offer the best possible deal for customers, who would otherwise likely look to independent garages, or not service the vehicle at all. This way, drivers get a full major and minor Nissan service, and benefit from improved residual values as a result."

The aim is to give greater affordability and confidence to customers, while boosting service plan uptake for dealerships. Payment Assist's interest-free mechanism is intended to make regular servicing financially accessible, easing potential budget concerns for eligible vehicle owners.

Nicolas Belaud, Director, Aftersales Nissan Motor GB Limited, said:

"We're pleased to be working in close collaboration with Car Care Plan and Payment Assist to enable the Instant Service Plan product. It's an ideal way for Nissan dealerships to strengthen relationships with existing and new customers, by offering a convenient and affordable way to pay for this service and their next with interest free monthly payments. And, all the benefits of a Nissan manufacturer-supported service are included, like Nissan Genuine Parts fitted by our trained technicians and 12 months Roadside assistance."

Eligibility

The Instant Service Plan is available for Nissan vehicles under ten years of age that are of UK specification. It excludes all light commercial vehicles (LCVs), as well as specific high-performance and larger models, including GT-R, NISMO, Pathfinder, and Patrol.

According to Nissan, approximately 45% of retail customers in the UK currently purchase a service plan with their new vehicle, with options available for two, three, or four years. The Instant Service Plan aims to fill the gap for those with used vehicles or those who did not take out a multi-year plan at the time of purchase.

The partnership between Payment Assist, Car Care Plan, and Nissan is expected to encourage customers to remain within the official dealership network for servicing, rather than moving to independent garages, supporting both the customer experience and the dealership's aftersales business.
