Normative launches new CSRD solution with CEO appointment
Normative has launched a new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) offering, addressing increasing demands for expert guidance in ESG reporting.
The roll-out of this comprehensive solution coincides with Sebastien Blanc taking the helm as the new CEO of the enterprise carbon platform company. Normative aims to simplify the complexities of emerging ESG legislation, leveraging Blanc's experience in scaling tech companies to lead through the next phase of growth.
This new product arrives as businesses across the European Union and the UK face heightened expectations around ESG compliance. Recent findings from Normative indicate 82% of sustainability decision-makers expect compliance significance to grow within their organisations, a significant increase from 40% a year prior. Normative's "Carbon Accountability Report" notes that many businesses are still hindered by knowledge gaps regarding regulatory requirements.
To combat these challenges, Normative's CSRD offering enhances its existing capabilities with additional tools for data preparation and reporting. This initiative seeks to help organisations address over 1,000 data metrics necessary for sustainability reporting. The platform includes AI-assisted carbon calculations, facilitating streamlined data collection, audit trails, and cross-departmental reporting.
Understanding the heightened complexity of legislative requirements, Normative is also providing expert guidance via a team of GHG-protocol certified Climate Strategy Advisors. The aim is to demystify the terminology and processes surrounding ESG compliance, reducing the burden on businesses navigating these changes.
Jesper Jerlang, Sustainability Manager at manufacturing firm Aasted, praised Normative's platform: "Normative has been a great support to Aasted's CSRD preparation and our efforts to reduce our carbon emissions. With Normative's platform, we used a combination of supplier specific, activity and spend data to calculate a comprehensive scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions baseline, positioning us well for CSRD compliance and for our target setting on carbon emission reduction."
Normative's initiative also seeks to assist organisations in achieving lasting business impact beyond mere compliance. Businesses are encouraged to embark on cost-saving, energy-efficient strategies, along with developing supply chain resilience. According to the "Carbon Accountability Report," 86% of decision-makers see compliance as a competitive advantage and believe steps towards these impacts can significantly benefit their companies.
Sebastien Blanc, the newly appointed CEO, is tasked with steering Normative through this pivot towards enhanced CSRD offerings. His background includes previous roles as CEO of Lengow and Skimlinks, where he successfully guided companies through critical development stages. He stated, "Our vision is to help every organisation, regardless of size or sector, to navigate the complexities of CSRD and to use it as a driver of positive change and competitive advantage. I'm thrilled to join Normative at this exciting stage of growth. Our new CSRD offering is a great example of our continued innovation and reinforces our position as one of the leaders in the carbon accounting and compliance industry. By combining expert guidance with cutting-edge technology, Normative will make CSRD reporting practical and actionable for all."
Blanc's appointment sees co-founder Kristian Rönn transitioning to a founder and board member role, symbolising Normative's commitment to continuous evolution in response to the shifting legislative landscape.
