Silverfin appoints Allison Searle to drive UK & Ireland growth

Yesterday

Silverfin has appointed Allison Searle as General Manager for the UK and Ireland, with a focus on expanding its presence in cloud-based accounting and advisory services in the region.

Searle takes over the position from Cameron Ford, who transitions into the newly created post of Chief Operating Officer. Ford's new role will involve leading global operations and furthering the company's international growth strategy.

Leadership changes

Searle brings experience in both accountancy and revenue-focused growth across multiple markets. She previously served as Vice President of Global Sales at NedGraphics Software, and held commercial leadership positions at Planful and Alpega Group. Her reputation for building high-performing sales teams and translating business strategy into sustainable outcomes was cited as significant to Silverfin's plans for further UK expansion.

In her new role, Searle will be tasked with accelerating Silverfin's growth ambitions in the UK, strengthening client partnerships, and expanding the business to address increasing demand for digital accountancy platforms.

"I'm delighted to join Silverfin at such a pivotal moment. Accountancy firms are under more pressure than ever to modernise, and technology is no longer a nice-to-have — it's core to unlocking efficiency, growth, and strategic impact. Silverfin's platform and reputation make it a natural partner for firms ready to evolve, and I'm excited to lead our growth in the UK and Ireland."

Ford, reflecting on his tenure as UK General Manager, commented on the handover and the evolving nature of the sector.

"It's been a privilege to lead our UK business, and I couldn't be handing it over to a more capable successor. As Chief Operating Officer, I'll be working closely with teams across our global business to scale operations and deliver long term value to our customers. With AI and automation reshaping the accountancy profession, this is a defining moment for the industry and Silverfin is right at the forefront."

Executive perspectives

Chief Executive Officer Lisa Miles-Heal remarked on the company's broader aims and the importance of recent leadership additions, including Searle's appointment and Ford's new position.

"Our technology is helping customers position themselves for the future - reimagining compliance, unlocking capacity and creating new business models and value streams. Allison's wealth of experience and proven abilities as a commercial leader will be invaluable in driving our UK strategy forward. And with Cameron taking the well-deserved step up into his new role, we're strongly positioned to seize the opportunities ahead and help our clients succeed with their digital transformations."

Recent appointments, including that of Stephanie Dechamps as Vice President of Marketing, reflect Silverfin's increased investment in strategic leadership. The addition of Searle and Dechamps also marks an important milestone for the company, with 50% gender equity now achieved within its executive leadership team.

Strategic focus

Searle's appointment arrives as accountancy firms in the UK and Ireland face growing demands to modernise, particularly with the increased adoption of cloud-based accounting systems and automation in compliance workflows.

Silverfin's platform supports accounting firms by integrating live client data, automating financial processes, and streamlining compliance activities. The company serves over 950 accounting firms, including all of the Big Four, across 16 countries. The executive leadership changes are intended to position Silverfin to meet industry shifts and client needs as the role of technology continues to grow in the accountancy sector.

The company's focus moving forward will be on consolidating its market presence in the UK and Ireland under Searle's stewardship, while Ford's promotion is expected to support Silverfin's broader international and operational initiatives.
