Synechron earns EcoVadis silver for sustainability
Synechron has received a silver medal from sustainability ratings provider EcoVadis, placing the technology consulting firm in the top 15 percent of organisations assessed worldwide.
The rating covers environmental performance, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis scores companies from 0 to 100. The silver tier broadly aligns with the 85th percentile and, according to EcoVadis, reflects balanced performance across the categories.
Synechron said the result reflected progress in its sustainability management system, including initiatives linked to renewable energy, emissions reduction, and responsible sourcing. The company is a digital transformation consultancy with a strong focus on financial services clients.
"Synechron's Silver EcoVadis rating is proof of the measurable results our teams are delivering in sustainability," said Mihir Shah, President of Synechron. "From reducing emissions to strengthening people programs and responsible governance, these efforts demonstrate the progress that's possible when sustainability is embedded across the business."
Risk And Reporting
Synechron has also completed its first global climate risk assessment aligned to IFRS guidance and published its first company-wide sustainability report.
IFRS sustainability standards have become a reference point for corporates and investors. As stakeholder scrutiny rises, businesses across sectors are mapping climate-related risks and opportunities into governance and reporting processes.
Synechron positioned its climate and sustainability work as part of a longer-term ESG approach, linking progress to operational practices across its footprint.
"EcoVadis looks at how the whole organisation operates. Our improvement shows that sustainability at Synechron is strengthened by the day‐to‐day work of teams across the company," said Parul Vyas, Head of Corporate Sustainability at Synechron.
Social Programmes
Synechron highlighted the expansion of its social impact agenda, including diversity, equity and inclusion programmes. It cited Synclusive, an internal DEI initiative, and a Women Back to Work pathway for people returning to employment after a career break.
The company also pointed to its global Graduate Training Program. Large consultancies and IT services groups have increasingly used graduate schemes and structured training as part of workforce planning, particularly as demand shifts toward data, cybersecurity, and cloud skills.
Synechron said governance, ethics, security, and accountability are embedded into everyday operations. In recent years, corporate buyers have tightened expectations around supply chain standards and vendor conduct, particularly in financial services, where third-party oversight is central to regulatory compliance.
Earlier Climate Disclosure
Synechron previously made the CDP Climate List, which it said applied to around 4 percent of companies assessed. CDP evaluates organisations on climate transparency and action, using disclosures and supporting evidence in its scoring process.
The company is part of a broader shift among technology services firms facing more sustainability questions from clients and procurement teams. Buyers are increasingly asking vendors for emissions data, climate targets, and evidence of responsible sourcing, with some building these requirements into contract evaluations.
EcoVadis has become a common reference in these processes. Companies use the platform to compare supplier sustainability performance and monitor improvements over time, particularly across global supply chains where direct audits can be resource-intensive.
Scale And Footprint
Synechron employs about 16,500 people across roughly 60 offices in more than 20 countries. The firm provides consulting and delivery work spanning AI, cloud, cybersecurity, and data engineering.
Its regional teams are supported by delivery centres, a model widely used across the sector. Consultancies and IT service providers often blend local client engagement with distributed delivery and development.
Synechron also works with major technology partners, including AWS, Microsoft, Databricks, Salesforce, and ServiceNow. Such partnerships can provide access to product roadmaps, support implementation practices, and help meet client demand for widely adopted platforms.
As sustainability assessments increasingly influence procurement decisions, Synechron is likely to face continued pressure to demonstrate emissions reductions, climate risk governance, and responsible procurement as it competes for work in regulated industries.
