Creditinfo has partnered with TaranDM to expand credit risk decisioning for lenders across its operations in more than 40 countries.

The partnership targets banks, fintechs, telecoms operators and other lenders seeking to automate credit decisions and tailor lending strategies to local market conditions with less reliance on internal technology teams.

The move comes as lenders across Europe face a tougher credit environment. The European Central Bank has reported tighter lending standards and rising loan rejections, increasing pressure on financial institutions to reassess how they evaluate risk and manage approvals.

London-based Creditinfo, established in 1997, provides credit information and risk management services in markets across four continents. Singapore-based TaranDM, founded in 2019, offers a credit risk decision engine used by banks, fintechs and non-bank lenders in retail and small and medium-sized enterprise lending.

Under the agreement, Creditinfo will use its local market presence and distribution network to support the rollout of TaranDM's decisioning technology. The offering is intended to automate decisions across the customer lifecycle and let lenders adjust decision rules with limited input from internal IT teams.

That reflects a broader challenge for lenders operating across multiple jurisdictions. Credit policies often need to be adapted to local economic conditions, regulation and customer behaviour, but changes to decision systems can require technical resources many institutions do not have in-house.

Local markets

Creditinfo's role in the partnership is based on its experience in local credit markets and regulatory environments. It operates in more than 40 countries, giving it a network across both established and developing lending markets.

TaranDM's customer base includes large banks, microlenders and telecoms companies. That points to demand for credit decision tools beyond mainstream banking, particularly in sectors where lending decisions are embedded in broader customer onboarding and payment services.

The combined offering is intended to help lenders modernise credit operations while keeping decision models adaptable. In practice, institutions can automate decisioning for applications, account management and other stages of the lending relationship without building every workflow internally.

For lenders, the appeal is partly operational. Automated credit decisioning can reduce manual handling and speed up responses to applicants, while making it easier to change credit rules when economic conditions shift. In markets where default risk, inflation or regulation can change quickly, the ability to alter lending criteria without a lengthy systems project can become increasingly important.

Technology push

The agreement also reflects continued demand for software that separates credit policy from core banking technology. Rather than relying on internal development teams to make every change, lenders are increasingly seeking tools that allow risk and operations staff to manage more of the process directly.

That trend has been especially visible among fintechs and non-bank lenders, but traditional banks have also been reviewing older infrastructure as they seek faster changes to underwriting and portfolio management. Telecoms groups that extend consumer credit have faced similar pressures, particularly in markets where handset financing and related services are growing.

Stuart Kelly, Director of Decisioning and Consumer Solutions at Creditinfo, said: "Our existing automated decisioning solution provides lenders with a proven way to automate credit decisions in real time and in batch, across the full customer lifecycle. Partnering with TaranDM will significantly enhance our decisioning capabilities and enable our clients to maximise the value they can get from Creditinfo's data and local expertise in the 40+ countries in which we operate."

The joint offering is available through both businesses. The partnership gives TaranDM wider access to markets where Creditinfo already has client relationships, while Creditinfo adds a more flexible decision engine to its risk and data services.

Martin Chudoba, CEO and Co-Founder of TaranDM, said: "We are honoured to partner with Creditinfo and look forward to bringing TaranDM to lenders across its core markets. By combining Creditinfo's local presence and data expertise with the flexibility of TaranDM, banks and lenders will be able to automate their credit decisions and adapt them quickly, without depending on heavy IT effort."
