Dataglobal launches windream BPM v9 for digital processes
The dataglobal Group has announced the availability of version 9 of its Business Process Management (BPM) solution, windream BPM, which supports organisations in digitalising, editing, and automating their business processes.
The windream BPM v9 enables companies and public sector bodies to model recurring business processes digitally and intuitively, helping streamline areas such as accounts payable, travel expense processing, holiday requests, document control, and purchase requisitions. This version is designed to offer an end-to-end and integrated approach in line with the dataglobal Group's Data City concept.
The Data City suite aims to facilitate efficient and secure hybrid work environments, enabling employees to collaborate from any location while maintaining compliance and operational effectiveness. According to dataglobal Group, windream BPM serves as an automation tool to reduce manual errors, shorten processing times, and maintain high quality, translating to both improved customer satisfaction and lower operational costs.
A key feature in the new version is the graphical BPM Designer, which allows users to create and model workflows via a graphical interface without advanced programming skills, drawing on low-code technology. This feature is intended to empower business departments by enabling them to translate their process expertise into electronic workflows directly.
Expanding on this, windream BPM v9 integrates Smart Robots for automating server-side tasks. These include functions such as distributing emails, interfacing with third-party systems like CRM, ERP, and HR software, and supporting interactions with other components of the Data City infrastructure. Additionally, these Smart Robots can automate actions such as document indexing within document management systems, which dataglobal Group suggests can significantly reduce the programming, testing, and implementation workload for customers.
The latest release introduces performance and usability improvements, such as processing multiple workflow jobs simultaneously via profiles, which increases productivity. Multi-level escalation settings have been made more flexible, enabling customisable responses to missed deadlines—addressing traditional concerns such as potential cash discount losses.
Further enhancements include ad-hoc workflows, allowing users to define and modify workflow templates on the fly, including tailoring steps, responsibilities, and deadlines, all without requiring in-depth workflow design knowledge. To optimise performance, windream BPM v9 adopts multithreading for system steps, and a new server configuration tool is included to make backend management more straightforward.
Additional technical updates in version 9 include support for PostgreSQL 17.2, which is expected to provide users with another option for a robust and high-performance open-source database platform. These features, in combination with numerous detailed improvements, mark a significant update in the product's offering.
Explaining the broader context of this update in relation to dataglobal Group's overarching strategy, the company positions windream BPM 9 as the backbone of its Data City approach, focusing on process digitisation and optimisation across varied organisational contexts.
"A basic idea of the Data City is to bring people together with the required information and processes in the right context so that they can work highly productively, efficiently, securely and independently of location. windream BPM creates the basis for the automation of routine tasks and the structuring of complex processes. Version 9 of our BPM solution makes this even easier for our customers," says Nicolas Schwarzpaul, CEO of the dataglobal Group.
dataglobal Group emphasises that with version 9 of windream BPM, organisations can more rapidly achieve significant cost savings and benefit from improved scalability using a low-code platform for digital process modelling, automation, and optimisation.
