Deloitte & TeamViewer collaborate to digitalise warehouse tasks
In a move that bodes well for digitalising logistics operations, Deloitte and TeamViewer are set to announce their collaboration to establish vision picking as the industry standard for complex warehouse tasks. This forward-thinking approach uses smart glasses and augmented reality technology to guide warehouse workers through their assignments, promising enhanced speed, precision and ergonomics.
The fusion of TeamViewer's leading vision picking solution with Deloitte's expert logistics understanding and extensive SAP EWM implementation experience aims at facilitating the digital transformation of warehouse operations. This comes at a crucial time with global supply chains under severe strain due to increasing demand and routine staff changes.
This joint venture looks to address and overcome typical logistics sector hurdles such as relentless pressure on worldwide supply chains and high employee turnover. The objective is to set vision picking as the dominant method for complicated warehouse operations.
The collaboration's initial phase will include Deloitte and TeamViewer working together to implement TeamViewer's vision picking solution intertwined with SAP Extended Warehouse Management, employing Deloitte's knowledgeable logistics consultants. This product, designed for frontline workers and warehouse operatives, brings benefits including hastened, hands-free picking, minimised blunders, improved working environment ergonomics and faster staff induction.
Stijn Van Hoof, SAP EWM & TM CoE Lead at Deloitte, emphasised how this venture will aid clients in updating their logistics operations and confronting their gravest business complications in the logistics area. "Companies utilising SAP EWM can effortlessly gain from Deloitte's all-encompassing consultancy offerings and TeamViewer's leading AR platform to enhance their warehouse logistics procedures and general picking efficiency," he stated.
Jan Junker, EVP Sales EMEA at TeamViewer, shared his excitement about the project. "Our vision picking solution vastly better the manual warehouse processes, resulting in expedited operations, higher accuracy, and ultimately increased productivity. It also reduces the training period and the onboarding time of staff in an environment with high employee rotation. Partnering with Deloitte is aligned with our shared objective of aiding corporate digital transformation utilising cutting-edge technologies. With this in view, I eagerly anticipate broadening the use cases for our solution and jointly exploring novel opportunities with Deloitte."
Warehouse managers, on the other hand, will have real-time tracking facilities, authority over their operations and adaptable workflows. With Deloitte's in-depth consultancy knowledge, corporations can smoothly introduce this solution into their warehouses.
This partnership represents a significant step towards digitalising manual work processes in crucial supply chain and logistics areas, and it is a much-needed response to the mounting pressure on the world's supply chains.
