Ecommpay introduces PayPal subscription feature for merchants
Ecommpay, a payment service provider, has introduced a new feature enabling merchants to collect recurring PayPal payments from customers. This addition complements the existing payment methods that merchants have been using, which include subscription card payments and direct debits.
The new feature is designed for businesses with subscription-based models, such as meal kit delivery services, pay TV, and beauty boxes, which sell products or services on a recurring basis. The decision to add this feature was driven by a growing demand from Ecommpay's clients, who were seeking to process recurring payments and thereby generate additional revenue streams.
Previously, Ecommpay has piloted various PayPal solutions, including PayPal Complete Payments, PayPal Express Checkout, and PayPal Pay Later. The introduction of PayPal subscriptions is viewed as a continuation of the company's long-standing partnership with PayPal.
According to Ecommpay, the feature has already been implemented for existing customers and is ready for immediate use. Merchants can manage all subscriptions from their PayPal dashboard, providing them with comprehensive control and visibility over billing cycles, amounts, and customer information. The dashboard also allows merchants to make changes, track payment history, and handle cancellations seamlessly.
Arthur Ribakovs, Head of Financial Partnerships at Ecommpay, commented on the new feature: "Our priority is always to make online payments as smooth as possible to allow our clients to grow their businesses, so we're excited to be offering these capabilities for one of the most popular digital wallets. This is the next step in strengthening our strategic relationship with PayPal and allowing us to assist more merchants whose business model is based on subscriptions."
Vincent Belloc, Senior Vice President for PayPal UK, also expressed his enthusiasm: "We're delighted to provide added value and opportunities to Ecommpay's clients. Small businesses face a myriad of challenges from finding new customers and managing cash flow to driving sales. Putting the customer preference at the heart of the payment and providing shoppers more choice in how they can pay can help turn prospects into customers and grow sales."
