Endava unveils new execs to drive AI & global engagement

Wed, 9th Jul 2025

Endava has announced several changes to its executive team, with new appointments and expanded responsibilities among its senior leadership.

Chief Executive Officer John Cotterell has now assumed additional operational responsibilities, including oversight for sales and go-to-market strategy. This development follows the retirement of Julian Bull, who previously held the role of Chief Operating Officer.

New executive appointments

Alastair Lukies CBE has joined Endava as Chief Engagement Officer. Lukies is tasked with intensifying stakeholder engagement both within and outside the organisation. He will also serve as Chair of the newly established Global Advisory Board, which aims to guide Endava as it prioritises growth based on artificial intelligence. The Board brings together professionals and leaders with experience spanning various industries and geographic regions.

Rob Machin has been appointed Chief People and Locations Officer, marking his return to Endava's senior leadership. Machin, who previously served as Chief Operating Officer, will be responsible for further developing Endava's engineering culture. He will also focus on enhancing value for clients in areas including core systems modernisation and productivity improvements driven by artificial intelligence. Machin's appointment comes as David Churchill, the outgoing Chief People Officer, steps down and prepares to leave the company.

Leadership vision

"These changes mark an exciting new chapter for Endava. I am delighted to welcome Alastair Lukies as our Chief Engagement Officer—we expect his leadership and vision will be instrumental as we deepen our relationships with stakeholders and accelerate our AI-led growth through the Global Advisory Board. I'm also very pleased to see Rob Machin return to the executive team in a role that reflects our ongoing commitment to our people and our engineering excellence. At the same time, I want to thank Julian Bull and David Churchill for their contributions over the years. As we move forward, I'm energised by the strength of our leadership and the opportunities ahead," John Cotterell commented.

The adjustments in leadership reflect a move towards a more centralised model under Cotterell's management. The company's emphasis is on improving stakeholder engagement and leveraging advancements in artificial intelligence to deliver value for clients.

Endava's clients operate in a wide range of sectors, including payments, insurance, finance and banking, technology, media, telecommunications, healthcare, life sciences, mobility, retail, and consumer goods.
