FE fundinfo boosts Nexus for advisers with AI tools

FE fundinfo has stepped up investment in Nexus for Financial Advisers, with more than 25 new features due by the end of the year.
The move centres on a single workflow system for financial advisers, bringing together client data, investment research, cash flow planning, suitability work, compliance and customer relationship management tasks that are often spread across separate applications.
Many advice firms still rely on disconnected software, forcing advisers to re-enter data and move between systems, leaving gaps in records. FE fundinfo's 2026 Financial Adviser Survey found that 95% of advisers use too many software applications, while half spend four to six hours a week reconciling data between systems.
That administrative burden has become a pressure point for firms trying to meet growing demand while keeping advice personal and affordable. Advisers want to spend more time with clients, but are losing close to five working weeks a year to administration rather than client-facing activity.
Platform changes
Nexus for Financial Advisers is designed to provide a connected adviser workspace built on FE fundinfo's data. Advisers using the system already move between client records, investment research, and cash flow planning without switching tools or re-keying information, and practice management tools are due to follow.
New additions will be released monthly for the rest of 2026. Upcoming changes include AI-based fund research and cash flow modelling, intended to enable advisers to carry out whole-of-market research and model client scenarios within the same platform.
Firm-level compliance reporting is also due to be added, extending oversight from individual advisers to principals and managers. The same period will also bring deeper links with common back-office systems, allowing client information to flow directly into Nexus.
A full client profile is planned to give advisers a single record without needing to move between platforms. Another development is AI-generated suitability reporting, which FE fundinfo identified as one of advisers' main sources of administration.
According to FE fundinfo, those reports will connect the client profile to a compliant report with evidence linked to source material. AI outputs in the platform are attributed to their source, and adviser actions are auditable.
AI use
FE fundinfo linked the investment to wider AI adoption in the advice market. Firms already using AI are recording measurable time savings, with advisers saving more than five hours a week, or more than 250 hours a year.
Its survey found that 51% of firms using AI reported gains in automation and efficiency. That trend has shaped four main areas of investment for the rest of 2026: a unified adviser workspace, AI tools that build the client record from meeting conversations, AI-driven report writing including suitability reports, and broader integration with existing adviser systems.
Nexus Assistant, already live for more than 1,000 advisers, marks the first major stage of that work. The assistant helps advisers prepare for meetings, records conversations, and automatically updates the client record. FE fundinfo said it can save up to three hours per meeting.
"Advice technology was built one tool at a time, not designed around the adviser or the client. We're changing that. Nexus for Financial Advisers reimagines the advice journey, connected by AI, grounded in trusted research and analytics, so advisers move from first conversation to advice on one platform. The outcome: exponential value for advisers and their clients. Nexus for Financial Advisers is where we're putting real investment behind that vision. This is just the beginning," said Liam Healy, Chief Executive Officer of FE fundinfo.
FE fundinfo said the breadth of underlying data is central to the product, drawing on long-running research and analysis across client, cashflow, product performance and cost information.
"Advisers do not want more software, they want more capacity. Nexus for Financial Advisers gives them one connected platform instead of another tool to manage. Anyone can build an AI feature. What makes it useful is the data behind it. Nexus draws on client, cashflow, product performance and cost data across the whole advice journey, and every output is attributed to its source. That is what creates a seamless client journey on a single platform, and what lets advisers trust the output and act on it," Ishaan Sethi, Head of UK Wealth Products at FE fundinfo, said.
