Miranda McLean honoured in 2024 Women in FinTech Powerlist
Miranda McLean, Chief Marketing Officer at Ecommpay, has been included in the Innovate Finance Women in FinTech Powerlist for 2024 for the second year running.
The Innovate Finance Women in FinTech Powerlist, now in its ninth year, aims to highlight outstanding women transforming the FinTech and financial services sectors both within the UK and globally. McLean is one of 31 marketing and communication experts to be acknowledged by a panel of independent judges. The recognised professionals will be honoured at a dedicated Innovate Finance event in London.
McLean's tenure at Ecommpay began in early 2024, marking a notable increase in female representation within the company's senior leadership. Her initiatives have focused on boosting equity, diversity, and inclusion, starting with the rebranding of Ecommpay and the launch of a more accessible and inclusive website. Additionally, she has been instrumental in the creation of the Ecommpay for Good programme, which promotes accessibility among employees, clients, and partners, and offers support to other businesses aiming to enhance inclusivity.
"I am deeply honoured to be recognised within the Women in FinTech Powerlist once again alongside so many other incredible and outstanding women driving innovation and demonstrating leadership in everything FinTech," stated Miranda McLean. "I firmly believe that the FinTech sector thrives on diversity and inclusion, and I am committed to championing the skills and expertise of all individuals. I am excited to continue driving positive change within Ecommpay and the wider FinTech community in the journey towards financial inclusivity for all."
Beyond her role at Ecommpay, McLean has served on a pro-bono basis on the Executive Board of the European Women Payments Network (EWPN) since 2019, contributing to the network's growth to over 12,000 members in Europe. Martha Mghendi-Fisher, the founder of EWPN, lauded McLean for her "skill and dedication to championing minorities, especially women, in the payments industry," noting her contributions as "inspirational and invaluable."
In addition, McLean is active as a member of The Payments Association Editorial Board and leads Project ESG, which is focused on promoting sustainable strategies in FinTech organisations. Her dedication to the empowerment of women in the sector is further evidenced through her participation in the Money20/20 RiseUp Programme and her position as an Advisory Board member of the FinTech B2B Marketing Community, where she mentors marketing professionals and encourages community development.
