Paladin appoints Nazo Moosa as UK Managing Director
Paladin Capital Group has appointed Nazo Moosa as Managing Director for its European operations.
Nazo Moosa joins Paladin's UK office and will collaborate with Ken Pentimonti, another Managing Director, to enhance the firm's international investments and fundraising capabilities. She will also take up a position on Paladin's Executive Committee. Moosa's appointment represents a further strengthening of Paladin's influence in the European venture capital community, capitalising on an ongoing relationship, as she has been a senior advisor to Paladin since 2017.
Moosa has over two decades of investment experience in enterprise software and deep technologies, establishing herself as a key figure in the European growth capital market. Her career includes co-founding The Carlyle Group's European Technology Fund, where she engaged in growth and buyout strategies, as well as launching Europe's first dedicated cybersecurity fund. Most recently, she served as Managing Partner at EIP, overseeing a multi-stage fund with USD $3 billion in assets.
Michael Steed, Founder and Managing Partner at Paladin Capital Group, commented, "We are honored to have Nazo join Paladin and are excited to benefit from her unparalleled investing and management experience to further strengthen our European presence and firm as a whole. With more than 20 years of experience investing in technology that drives innovation and strengthens the security and resiliency of democratic countries, she will be critical to expanding Paladins mission both in Europe and across the globe. We are grateful for our years of partnership with Nazo and are excited to work together to continue growing the world's most innovative and security-first companies."
In her new role at Paladin, Moosa will be pivotal in directing the firm's path. As a Managing Director and member of the Executive Committee, she will focus on ensuring Europe leverages its potential by combining international capital with its leading research in fields such as AI, cybersecurity, robotics, and quantum technology to nurture global technology leaders.
Nazo Moosa expressed her enthusiasm: "I am thrilled to expand my relationship with Paladin. Europe has historically underinvested in its security, and with new technology creating an increasingly unstable world, we cannot afford to miss this golden opportunity to develop a more resilient economy. When I joined Paladin as senior advisor in 2017, I witnessed first-hand their extraordinary capacity to bring together corporations, start-ups, and policymakers to drive innovation in the market and fortify the critical infrastructure of the U.S. and its western allies. I look forward to working with the team in Europe to expand Paladin's footprint in the UK and across Europe."
Paladin has been operational in the UK and Luxembourg since 2015. The firm has made substantial inroads into building its European presence by investing in 25 companies with operations across the continent. These investments include notable names like Hack the Box, IriusRisk, Calypso AI, and most recently Constructive Bio and Zerve. Paladin is actively investing its USD $370 million Cyber Fund II into cyber and security-focused AI start-ups throughout Europe.
