In a significant development for the fintech sector, Paymentology, a prominent global issuer-processor, has announced the appointment of Jeff Parker as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Before assuming this role, Parker acted as the Senior Vice President (SVP) and Managing Director at Marqeta, a publically traded fintech firm. The move promises to usher in a period of regional expansion for Paymentology over the next year.
Parker succeeds Paymentology's incumbent Co-CEOs, Abe Smith and Angy Watson, effective immediately. His appointment comes on the back of a stellar career spanning over two decades in the global fintech and financial services sphere. Besides being integral to Marqeta's recent international repositioning and operational expansion across the Asia Pacific (APAC) and Europe, Parker also steered global payments company World First as CEO, leading their international expansion, and played an instrumental role in its successful sale to the Ant Group.
Before his stint at World First, Parker also held senior positions at financial service giants such as Macquarie Bank, JP Morgan, and Accenture. Furthermore, he was the Chief Enterprise Officer at OFX, a Sydney-based international payments company, where he was responsible for managing the global B2B team.
Speaking on the latest appointment, Rowan Brewer, Chairman at Paymentology comments, "We embarked on a thorough search for our new CEO, seeking an individual who not only embodies the core values of Paymentology's culture but also possesses a proven record of success. Jeff emerged as the perfect fit, with his wealth of international payments experience from prominent global organisations. We are confident that Jeff will not only uphold our values but also spearhead our mission of positively impacting lives globally."
Jeff Parker, newly appointed CEO at Paymentology, expressed his enthusiasm for the new position. He states, "I am delighted to take on the role of CEO at Paymentology, an organisation that has already created a strong global value proposition in the payments space. Their rapid growth speaks volumes, and my focus will be on building Paymentology’s position as the global neo-processor of choice for fintechs, telcos, corporates and challenger banks. Together, we will continue our growth trajectory, ensuring that Paymentology continues to provide next-generation payment solutions on a global scale. I look forward to collaborating with this exceptional team and contributing to Paymentology's ongoing success."
This appointment marks a significant step for Paymentology as it looks to bolster its presence in the fintech sector and continues on its dynamic growth path. Parker's appointment as CEO commences with immediate effect.
