Pytilia triples Belfast HQ space to support global export growth
Pytilia has expanded its Belfast headquarters, tripling its office space to support a growing global customer base and rising headcount. The technology company, which operates in sectors such as cloud computing, data engineering, artificial intelligence, financial services, cybersecurity and telecoms, now generates the majority of its revenue from exports.
Export-led growth
Pytilia reports that 90% of its revenues come from customers outside the UK. Its client list includes international businesses such as Hewlett Packard and BT, as well as financial services companies. The company provides software design and development services, helping clients adapt to technological change and meet regulatory requirements.
New office and workforce
The expansion sees Pytilia move into a new 4,500 sq ft office at Weavers Business Park in Belfast. The company now employs over 50 people, with further recruitment underway for a range of positions. The new workspace is intended to accommodate this growth and create opportunities for staff collaboration.
"Pytilia exemplifies an indigenous software company driving innovation through R&D and collaboration with local universities, whilst creating high quality jobs and career opportunities. I warmly congratulate them on the opening of these impressive new offices, which will support the company's continued growth," said Dr Caoimhe Archibald, Economy Minister, Northern Ireland Executive.
Early careers focus
The company has emphasised early careers, employing graduates, students on year-out placements, and apprentices. Approximately 20% of Pytilia's employees are in early-career stages, with apprentices accounting for over 10% of the workforce. Programmes such as degree apprenticeships are part of its strategy to develop future talent.
"Pytilia has grown steadily since our launch five years ago as our global customer-base has expanded, and we are continuing to recruit for a range of roles. To accommodate our growth, we are tripling our available space and providing an invaluable base for our team to be together and to support new joiners to the business, which is especially important with Pytilia's strong focus on early careers," said Angela Montgomery, Co-founder, Pytilia.
"Pytilia invests heavily in talent including with year-out placements and graduate programmes alongside our 'earn as you learn' degree apprenticeships. Around 20% of our team fall into the 'early career' category with apprentices making up over 10% of our workforce. A world-class office environment is critical for their ongoing development," said Tim Silversides, Co-founder, Pytilia.
