Sage adds AI to Intacct for faster, clearer finance work

Wed, 18th Feb 2026

Sage has rolled out a set of artificial intelligence features for Sage Intacct, its cloud finance platform. The update adds tools for period-end close analysis, cash management, data import, and query-based access to finance information.

The release targets finance teams seeking faster visibility into operational bottlenecks and less manual work in routine processes. Sage described it as a response to rising AI use in finance and growing expectations for real-time insight.

New features include AI-powered Close Analytics, a Finance Intelligence Agent that answers questions in natural language, and an AI-based Import Agent for data onboarding. Sage also added Cash Intelligence for monitoring cash position, along with additional modules for payments and accounts payable workflows.

Sage cited Gartner research that puts AI adoption among finance organisations at 59%. The same research says 67% of finance organisations using AI report higher confidence in its value than a year earlier.

Dan Miller, EVP of Financials and ERP at Sage, said the company is focused on speed and reliability in financial processes.

"Finance teams want not only faster processes, but also clarity they can trust," said Miller. "With new capabilities in Sage Intacct, we are helping teams remove manual steps, save time, and make confident decisions based on real-time insight."

Close and cash

Close Analytics focuses on the period-end close, providing interactive charts, historical trends, and bottleneck detection. It tracks days-to-close across entities and accounting periods and flags recurring handoff issues that can slow completion of a close cycle.

Sage Intacct Cash Intelligence provides a single-screen view of short-term cash position, including expected cash requirements and forecasted changes. It brings together bank balances, payables, and payroll in one view. AI-based insights and predictions identify potential shortfalls and payment priorities.

Availability varies by module. Close Analytics is available to early adopters in the US and UK. Cash Intelligence is available to early adopters, with a phased regional rollout.

Agents and automation

The Finance Intelligence Agent expands Sage Intacct's set of AI agents. Users can ask questions in natural language and receive answers that combine data, analysis, and recommendations. The agent works alongside existing Close, AP, Time, and Assurance Agents.

The new agent is available to early adopters in the US, UK, and Canada. Sage did not provide a general release schedule.

Sage also added AI line-level matching in accounts payable. The feature matches invoice lines to purchase order lines and flags discrepancies earlier in processing, aiming to improve accuracy and reduce exceptions later in the workflow. It is available globally.

Data import and access

The AI-powered Import Agent focuses on data preparation and upload, which can become a recurring task during migrations, acquisitions, or changes in upstream systems. It uses natural-language transformations and mapping options, supports splitting and joining fields, and provides real-time previews of changes with an instant rollback option.

Sage also introduced Sage Intacct Data Cloud, which provides direct access to Intacct data in Snowflake. It is described as "zero ETL," with no data duplication. Finance and analytics teams can query live data using SQL or business intelligence tools, including Power BI and Tableau. The feature is available globally.

Payments partnership

Alongside the AI updates, Sage added Customer Payment Services powered by Fortis. The module provides a self-service electronic payment experience for customers, including instant settlement and automated reconciliation. Sage linked the addition to reduced manual accounts receivable work and improved cash visibility.

Brad Bialas, Chief Commercial Officer at Fortis, said the release is aimed at connected data and faster decision-making for finance leaders.

"Finance leaders today need real-time insight they can act on," said Bialas. "Sage Intacct brings together connected data and intelligent analytics to help organizations move faster, scale with confidence, and make smarter decisions to support sustainable growth."

The release reflects a broader shift in finance software, with suppliers adding AI features for close management, forecasting, and workflow automation, while expanding options for governed data access for analytics teams. Some elements are in early adopter programmes, with broader availability depending on region and module.
