Sendcloud appoints Aliaksei Aneichyk as CFO in strategic move
Sendcloud, Europe's premier shipping platform, announced the recent appointment of Aliaksei Aneichyk as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on April 8. This development comes at a time when seamless shipping offerings have assumed greater importance, given that almost half of all consumers abandon their shopping carts if their expectations for delivery are not met. As Sendcloud speeds forward in its global mission to provide effective shipping solutions — a commitment recognised in its recent features in the FT1000 and Top 100 Next Unicorns — Aneichyk's appointment marks a significant milestone.
Sendcloud serves as a comprehensive platform for e-commerce shipping, allowing retailers, marketplaces, and fulfilment companies to scale operations and deliver excellent shipping experiences. It tackles the dual challenge faced by businesses of satisfying customer demands for personalized delivery options, while still turning a profit. Sendcloud centralises and automates the entire shipping process, covering everything from label printing, branded tracking updates, to returns management, ensuring businesses maintain control of their shipping from checkout to returns.
With robust backing from Softbank and a broad trust base comprised of 25,000 companies across Europe, Sendcloud is unwavering in its mission to offer global solutions for shipping.
Aneichyk, the former CFO at Gett, brings substantial expertise to his new role at Sendcloud. He has been instrumental in shaping the financial strategies at Gett, driving profitability and implementing a new operational model. Adding to his impressive finance figure, Aneichyk also brings to the table over 12 years of experience at Credit Suisse, where he supervised more than 30 successful equity transitions and several initial public offerings (IPOs).
The timing of the appointment coincides with the evolution of the e-commerce landscape, and the associated delivery market, projected to escalate from 161 billion parcels today to 225 billion by 2028. This presents opportunities for companies like Sendcloud, who are filling a gap in the market, enabling merchants to offer delivery experiences that were traditionally only within the scope of large-scale retailers. Aneichyk's appointment is therefore poised to support this mission at a crucial juncture.
CEO and Co-founder of Sendcloud, Rob van den Heuvel, expressed his confidence in Aneichyk's capabilities. "As we continue to shape the future of e-commerce delivery, our team remains crucial in achieving our mission. Aliaksei's extensive experience in high-growth environments, operational turnaround, coupled with a strong understanding of institutional fundraising through private and public markets, uniquely position him to help Sendcloud to scale profitably."
Aliaksei Aneichyk commented on his new role, "The rapid scale up the team has delivered over the past decade and the promising direction in which Sendcloud is headed made this a standout opportunity. I am excited to be part of Sendcloud's global growth journey and I look forward to working closely with its founders and investors."
The announcement also noted that with Aneichyk's appointment, the current CFO, Bas Smeulders, will step into the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO). He will progress to lead operational and customer-facing teams, alongside spearheading intelligent shipping initiatives.
