Sharp Electronics GmbH earns EcoVadis Gold for sustainability

Sharp Electronics GmbH has achieved the EcoVadis Gold Rating for sustainability, placing the company among the top 5% of companies assessed globally.

The EcoVadis Gold Rating recognises Sharp Electronics GmbH (SEG) and its business unit, Sharp Energy Solutions Europe (SESE), for their commitment to sustainability and ethical business practices.

SEG/SESE was evaluated by EcoVadis across four key areas: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The company's high performance, particularly in environmental impact and sustainable sourcing, underscores its dedication to sustainable operations.

The recognition for environmental leadership is supported by the implementation of robust policies aimed at reducing energy consumption, managing greenhouse gas emissions, and minimising waste. SEG/SESE participates in global initiatives such as the Science Based Targets and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and its practices are validated by the ISO 14001 certification.

In the realm of sustainable procurement, SEG/SESE adheres to responsible sourcing practices by conducting comprehensive supplier evaluations and integrating environmental and social criteria into their procurement processes. These efforts extend to regular audits and training programmes. Sharp is a member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), which highlights its position in sustainable procurement.
