tick9 & iplicit team up to boost SME cloud finance in logistics

Today

tick9 has formed a partnership with cloud accounting provider iplicit to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the transport, logistics, and supply chain industries in their transition to cloud-based financial systems.

The collaboration is aimed at addressing the challenges faced by SMEs in these sectors who have surpassed the capabilities of entry-level cloud software or remain reliant on legacy on-premises systems that lack a direct migration pathway to the cloud.

iplicit joins tick9's portfolio of technology partners, which also covers inventory management solutions. Alongside this, tick9 continues to integrate transport management systems through its proprietary AI-enabled platform and additional partner technologies, with the goal of streamlining logistics and finance operations through enhanced automation and visibility.

Sector focus

As an accredited iplicit partner, tick9 is now positioned to provide SMEs in the transport, logistics, and supply chain sectors with access to a modern cloud finance solution that aims to avoid the expense and disruption often associated with large-scale enterprise alternatives.

Steve Fewster, Director at tick9, outlined some of the trends observed in the logistics and supply chain sectors:

"Working primarily with SMEs in the £5m-£250m revenue range, we see many struggling to navigate systems that are outdated, disconnected or simply no longer fit for purpose. In logistics, many clients have grown through acquisitions and have been left managing dozens of systems. Others are stuck with legacy systems like Sage 50 or Sage 200, that either lack flexibility or are overly complex and expensive with a heavy reliance on third-party add-ons."

Fewster highlighted the perceived opportunity in the market and the characteristics that distinguish iplicit in this space, stating:

"The market opportunity here is immense. I've worked with countless finance systems over the past two decades, but iplicit stands out as bridging a real gap in the midmarket. Its implementation timeline, measured in weeks rather than months, minimises disruption and is a huge advantage for SMEs looking to modernise quickly. We see this as the beginning of a long and successful collaboration."

Partner alignment

Paula Cooper, Head of Channel at iplicit, gave her perspective on the partnership, commenting:

"tick9 is an ideal partner for iplicit. Its deep understanding of the transport and logistics SME market, and commitment to delivering impactful solutions, align perfectly with our mission to help businesses escape the confines of legacy and entry-level systems. Our partnership with tick9 will accelerate the benefits of cloud for countless organisations in this space."

iplicit reported securing a GBP £25 million institutional investment from One Peak earlier in 2025. The funding is earmarked for continued product development, expanding the company's accountancy and reseller partner ecosystem, and supporting the launch of its Channel Reseller Programme in 2024.

Sector context

The transition to cloud-based financial systems remains a key concern for many midmarket organisations within the transport and logistics sectors. Businesses in this bracket often deal with legacy technology platforms that can hamper efficiency and hinder growth, particularly following mergers or business expansion.

With digital transformation rising as a requirement for operational resilience and competitiveness, both tick9 and iplicit are targeting businesses that need to move beyond rudimentary systems, seeking to offer scalable cloud solutions tailored to sector needs. The partnership underscores a shared goal to lower barriers to cloud adoption while reducing complexity and implementation timelines for SME customers.

The companies indicated that they expect the collaboration to broaden access to cloud-based finance systems for organisations that have previously viewed such transitions as too costly or high risk.
