The report, compiled by CNBC in partnership with market research firm Statista, profiles the top 150 fintech companies operating in the UK across seven market sectors, utilising key performance indicators and sector-specific metrics to assess each firm.
ANNA Money features in the neobanking category, which highlights digital-only financial institutions. The company provides an AI-powered business account service designed to assist freelancers and small businesses with financial management tasks, including handling taxes.
Fintech landscape
According to CNBC, "With a centuries-old financial services sector, and attracting more FinTech VC investments than any other European country, the UK is a significant global hub for FinTechs and one of the world's largest markets for financial technology."
The report goes on to note the position of neobanks in the UK market: "The neobanking segment in particular has flourished in the UK thanks to fintech-friendly rules devised by regulators after the global financial crisis to make the banking sector more competitive."
