Mangopay, the platform and marketplace specific payment infrastructure provider, has appointed Bertrand Dezard as Head of Sales for Fraud. Dezard will aim to drive the growth of Mangopay's fraud prevention offer worldwide, with a specific focus on expanding its reach within Europe and Latin America.

Dezard, with over 15 years of experience in payment and fraud prevention industry, has held senior positions at Payplug, Braintree, and Visa Europe. His extensive know-how comprises of fostering a deep understanding of the European payments landscape and notably, implementing commercial optimisation tooling for clients through the detection of patterns associated with the latest fraudulent techniques and behaviours.

Mangopay, established in 2013, has facilitated leading European and global marketplaces, offering modular payment infrastructure and 360-degree fraud prevention. In 2023, in order to strengthen its client offer, the company acquired Nethone, a specialist in fraud detection and prevention, which introduced proprietary cybersecurity technology, expertise and intelligence to their portfolio.

The AI-driven cybersecurity solution from Nethone, incorporated by Mangopay, protects against a diverse range of threats such as account takeover by both bots and humans, reseller fraud, payment fraud, chargebacks, and return abuse. The solution offers enhanced protection through real-time fraud detection, darknet insights and device fingerprinting. Leveraging years of darknet insights, it guards businesses against techniques and patterns used by highly skilled fraudsters.

Dezard's appointment comes at a crucial growth phase for Mangopay. The firm is scaling, and expanding its fraud prevention product offering to cater to the needs of eCommerce businesses, platforms and the financial services industry.
