BlueVoyant strengthens cloud security in finance sector
Tue, 9th Jan 2024

BlueVoyant, a cybersecurity firm specialising in identifying and remediating internal and external threats, has announced a strategic partnership with Beeks Group, the largest pure-play cloud computing and analytics provider for global financial markets.

According to the two companies, the collaboration aims to bolster Beeks' 24x7 end-to-end Security Operations Centre (SOC) as part of its existing Microsoft technology infrastructure and enhance its cloud security offerings in the financial sector.

The move is anticipated to decrease operational overheads for Beeks, whose analysts formerly had to deal with numerous low-value alerts and compile their own threat intelligence, the company says. Beeks Group is taking a proactive stance in preparation for the implementation of the European Union’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) in January 2025 by partnering with BlueVoyant.

Oscar Neill, chief information security officer (CISO) at Beeks Group, said: “BlueVoyant’s solutions were up and running in less than three months, providing us with full visibility into the security of our cloud infrastructure, vastly reducing alert fatigue with our internal team.”

BlueVoyant was chosen by Beeks for the strength of its Analysts and Engineers, its advanced threat research, and its innovative technology and machine learning capabilities, which significantly reduce the number of alerts Beeks' team needs to tackle. The partnership will enable Beeks’ IT team to concentrate on identifying and counteracting the most critical cybersecurity threats to the business, thereby reducing data ingestion costs.

Gordon McArthur, Chief Executive Officer of Beeks Group, stated: “Investing in cyber security is a priority for us; anything less than a secure platform could result in significant losses for our clients…

"Working with BlueVoyant gives a reassurance to our clients that we are offering them industry-leading cyber defence while maintaining their infrastructure and digital ecosystems," he said.

Regarding the partnership, Holly Steele, BlueVoyant’s senior vice president for EMEA, stated: “Beeks Group is an industry leader in offering cloud solutions for the financial sector.

"We are honoured the Beeks team recognised BlueVoyant’s cyber security excellence and financial services experience, and chose us to strengthen their cyber defence posture," she said.

In preparation for the enforcement of the European Union’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) in January 2025, Beeks is working with BlueVoyant to improve its operational resilience. By partnering with BlueVoyant, Beeks plans to accelerate the maturity of its solutions, aiding it in achieving full compliance not only with DORA but with other upcoming regulations across its entire technology stack.
