Dost secures GBP £6 million to launch AI finance platform in UK

Thu, 20th Nov 2025

Dost has launched its AI financial automation platform in the UK after securing GBP £6 million in Series A funding led by Octopus Ventures. The company, which developed proprietary artificial intelligence to automate the processing of complex financial documents for mid-market enterprises, aims to address pain points for finance teams across the UK.

UK market entry

As part of its expansion, Dost has established a dedicated seven-person team in London covering sales, marketing, and customer support functions. Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder Adam Barbera has relocated to London to manage the company's growth in the market. Dost's technology has already been implemented in over 150 enterprises across Europe, with the firm processing more than four million accounting transactions for sectors such as manufacturing, construction, logistics, and automotive.

Automation focus

Dost's platform targets challenges in invoice processing, data entry, and approval workflows common to mid-market companies. Financial teams are expected to see administrative costs fall by as much as 80%, according to the company, alongside a productivity increase of 2.5 times. The system claims accuracy rates of over 95%, reducing the likelihood of errors inherent in manual processes.

Proprietary technology

The company emphasises its use of AI models built in-house and trained to process high volumes of complex documents, such as multi-page invoices and associated procurement paperwork. Dost's software covers the full procure-to-pay and order-to-cash cycles and is designed to deal with established industries that often face intricate supply chain and documentation requirements.

Key features of the platform include automatic digitisation of financial documents, AI-powered matching of invoices to purchase orders and delivery records, automated and customisable approval workflows, direct integration with widely used enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms-including SAP, Netsuite, Microsoft, and Sage-and self-service supplier portals. Real-time analytics provide decision-makers with up-to-date insights into spending and supplier performance.

Backer endorsement

"We spent the last three years solving these problems for European companies - refining our AI on millions of real-world transactions. UK businesses face identical challenges, but the market is significantly larger and more receptive to proven innovation. The endorsement from Octopus Ventures validates that our technology translates across borders - and that we're ready to scale here," said Adam Barbera, CEO and co-founder, Dost.

The latest funding round, which brings Dost's overall capital raised to EUR €8.9 million (around GBP £7.8 million), saw participation from TQ Ventures, Draper B1, Born Capital, and Eoniq.fund, in addition to Octopus Ventures. The new capital will be allocated to strengthen Dost's UK operations while also maintaining momentum in Spain, where the firm began in 2021.

Investor perspective

Octopus Ventures highlighted Dost's capacity to process intricate financial documentation-a capability valued by its customer base in Europe's mid-market and enterprise sectors.

"Dost is an AI-native platform tackling one of finance's most entrenched inefficiencies - invoice processing. Its product thrives in the messy, unstructured reality of mid-market and enterprise operations. The customer feedback we heard speaks for itself: they're consistently impressed by Dost's ability to process complex data at scale with remarkable accuracy. We're excited to back Adam and the team - founders with deep operational finance experience and the technical capability to thoughtfully apply AI to real problems in their vertical. We're proud to support them as they build on strong momentum and double down in the UK," said Uthish Ranjan, Partner, Octopus Ventures.

Operational efficiency

The founders of Dost plan to deepen the company's position in key European markets and broaden its reach to UK enterprises that continue to rely on manual processes. Dost's development team of over 30 specialists in AI and technology will support continued enhancements to the platform and expand integrations with core enterprise systems as deployment in the UK progresses.

"Our philosophy is to build technology that becomes indispensable by becoming invisible. When your AP process just works - no chasing invoices, no reconciliation headaches, no payment errors - that's when finance teams can become true strategic partners to the business," said Barbera.
