Lexsoft has partnered with Clio to bring Clio's legal AI platform to law firms and corporate legal departments across EMEA. The agreement covers Clio Work and Clio Manage.

Under the partnership, Lexsoft will sell and implement Clio's products and connect them with the other systems used by its clients. The arrangement applies across Europe, the Middle East and Africa and is available immediately.

Lexsoft works with legal sector clients on IT and business process systems, including document management, knowledge management, practice management and customer relationship management. The partnership adds Clio's practice management and legal AI tools to its product range while allowing it to remain an independent provider of legal technology services.

Clio Work and Clio Manage are central to the agreement. Lexsoft will build tailored environments around the products and create integrations with existing client systems, reflecting demand from law firms and in-house legal teams for tools that fit established workflows.

Clio says its legal AI offering combines data already held within Clio Manage, such as matters, clients and documents, with a legal content library of more than 1 billion documents. It presents that combination as a way to support legal research, analysis and drafting within a single environment.

The partnership points to a broader push by legal technology providers to embed AI tools within core operational systems rather than offer them as stand-alone products. For firms weighing how to adopt AI in daily work, integration with practice management and document systems has become a central issue.

Practise management platforms often sit at the start of many law firm processes, linking fee-earning work with records, billing, time capture and internal controls. That makes them a key point for vendors seeking to introduce AI into legal workflows without forcing firms to rebuild their existing technology estates.

"A practice management system is the originating point for most major legal processes - from document management and time recording through to security measures such as ethical walls," said Carlos García-Egocheaga, Chief Executive Officer, Lexsoft Systems.

"Until now, we've been reluctant to commit to a single partner, despite a wide choice of technologically robust and functionality-rich practice management systems on the market. But with the Clio platform, we're offering customers more than practice management. Clio Manage takes practice management to a new level, from user experience to advanced functionality. Clio Work, Clio's legal AI workspace, helps lawyers research, strategise and draft alongside Clio's global library of legal documents. By integrating these capabilities into customers' existing systems, we can deliver AI that works the way they do. We're excited about the value this partnership enables us to deliver to our customers, large and small," said García-Egocheaga.

Integration focus

For Lexsoft, the deal also reflects a focus on implementation and integration as legal clients look for suppliers that can connect new tools to long-standing systems. Many larger firms and legal departments operate a mix of specialist software for knowledge, documents, risk, finance and client records, which can complicate the introduction of new AI services.

Clio's channel strategy in the region appears aimed at using local partners with legal sector expertise to expand distribution and deployment. Lexsoft has an established presence in Europe as well as operations serving clients in the United States and Latin America, giving Clio access to a partner already active in legal technology projects.

"Firms across Europe want AI in their daily work, and it only earns its place when it understands the context behind that work," said Lisa Del Real, Vice President, Channel Partnerships, Clio.

"Lexsoft has built its business on connecting the systems law firms and legal departments depend on. Through this partnership, Lexsoft's clients can run Clio Manage and Clio Work on one shared foundation, so the context of each matter carries from the business of the firm into the legal work itself. They also get an implementation team that already knows how they work," said Del Real.

Lexsoft says the products are being offered to both law firms and corporate legal departments across EMEA. Clio, which operates in more than 130 countries and serves hundreds of thousands of legal professionals, has been expanding its position in legal AI as firms and in-house teams seek more direct links between matter data, legal content and day-to-day work.
