Rachelle Alexis Lim named CEO of MultiSafepay to drive SME growth

Tue, 18th Nov 2025

MultiSafepay has appointed Rachelle Alexis Lim as its new Chief Executive Officer, following approval from the Dutch central bank. The move aims to enhance MultiSafepay's strategy in serving small and medium-sized enterprises across Europe with payment solutions, as it continues its growth following a recent acquisition and partnership activity.

Leadership changes

Lim takes over from founder Olaf Geurs, who led the company since its establishment in 1999. Geurs will continue at MultiSafepay as Chief Technology Officer and remain on the board. Lim also joins the board in her new capacity.

"Leading MultiSafepay has been an incredible journey for nearly three decades," said Geurs, Chief Technology Officer, MultiSafepay. "With Rachelle's exceptional leadership and through our partnership with Antom, we are well positioned for the future. I'll be working with her closely, while dedicating my focus to our technology, to ensure our innovative spirit continues to drive our success."

Strategic partnership

MultiSafepay's growth trajectory has accelerated since it began a partnership with Antom, a global payments and digitisation services provider. Following the start of this strategic collaboration, MultiSafepay has recorded nearly double the transaction volume and an increase of over 25 percent in its merchant base.

"Rachelle is a fintech veteran, she has been instrumental in establishing Antom's merchant payment services across European and UK markets. Through strategic business initiatives including a cornerstone collaboration with MultiSafepay, she has significantly expanded the company's presence in Europe and fuelled strong overall growth," said Geurs.

Omnichannel focus

The company reports that its point-of-sale and omnichannel payment services now represent approximately one tenth of total processed volume, reflecting a shift in demand from solutions typically reserved for larger enterprises to a broader range of customers, including SMEs.

Background and experience

Lim joined MultiSafepay from Antom, where she served as General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa. She previously held senior roles at 2C2P, where she oversaw business expansion and partnerships, and at Global Payments Asia Pacific as Head of Products, focused on launches across point-of-sale, eCommerce, and integrated solutions.

"I am thrilled to lead MultiSafepay and build upon the incredible foundation which Olaf has created," said Lim, CEO, MultiSafepay. "We will focus on empowering SMEs across Europe with the innovative yet simplified payment solutions MultiSafepay is recognised for, which will help drive inclusive growth for businesses of all sizes."

"Under Olaf's visionary leadership, MultiSafepay has grown into the industry leader it is today. I look forward to scaling the business alongside Olaf in his new role as CTO as we supercharge MultiSafepay's growth and deliver even greater value to SMEs," said Lim.

SME reach

MultiSafepay serves more than 20,000 businesses in industries such as eCommerce, retail, hospitality, and entertainment. Operational markets include the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, and Spain. The company became part of Ant International through acquisition in July 2024. Ant International, based in Singapore, has provided additional backing and accelerated innovation at MultiSafepay since the transaction.

Partnership perspectives

"MultiSafepay and Antom have developed a powerful synergy in our mission to provide SMEs with reliable and efficient omnichannel payment solutions. I'm delighted that Rachelle's been appointed to lead MultiSafepay into its next chapter, her leadership will be instrumental in deepening our partnership and delivering an innovative product suite that empowers the European business community," said Gary Liu, General Manager, Antom.
